To thrive as a Film Music Intern, you need a foundational understanding of music theory, audio editing, and film scoring principles, often supported by coursework or a degree in music or related fields. Familiarity with digital audio workstations (DAWs) such as Pro Tools or Logic Pro, as well as basic knowledge of scoring software like Sibelius or Finale, is typically required. Strong organization, communication skills, and a willingness to collaborate creatively make an intern stand out in this role. These competencies are crucial for assisting composers, adapting to fast-paced production environments, and contributing meaningfully to the creative process.
