About the Role:
Believe In Me Empowerment in New Haven, CT is looking for a passionate and driven Assistant Program Director to join our Transitional House team. Assistant Program Director Summary: Provides assistance to the Program Director in ensuring program oversight, staff supervision, to include case management oversight and day to day operations; on-call for after-hours emergencies and needs; back up contact person for JBCSSD. May transport clients, based on programmatic needs. Must possess a valid driver's license. Expected to work some evenings and weekends. Responsibilities: The Assistant Program Director will be on-call 24 hours a day on a (rotating schedule) in order to respond to emergencies referral source needs. They will also supervise subordinate staff (Counselors, Residential Advisers). Overseeing and supervising the daily program activities. Directly supervises employees. Reports to the PD. Duties: o Monitor all subordinates. 
o Maintaining staff schedules. 
o Responsible for maintaining client's appointments (court order conditions) 
o Responsible for checking program logs (room check log, mileage log, client's sign in and out logs). 
o Maintain program inventory and supplies. 
o Log key access codes. o Overseeing and supervising the daily program activities component of the Transitional Housing Program. 
o Review and adjust staffing schedule as needed for coverage. o Responsible for on call duty rotation. 
o Review daily logbook, headcount, telephone log, visitor's log, fire drills, and van inspections. 
o Maintain inventory and order supplies for the facility. 
o Ensure the correction implementation of all program models. 
o Ensure implementation and proficient case management techniques. Review quality assurance taped case management sessions, review case management notes/files for ongoing quality assurance. Provide feedback, reinforcement, and instruction. 
o Assist with interviewing and recruitment of potential staff members. Train and evaluate staff and intern performance. Counsel and discipline staff as appropriate. 
o Attend all training as designated. o Assist with case management functions in the absence of a Counselor (court reports, assessments, urines and case management sessions). 
o Review client files. 
o Enter weekly payroll in the absence of PD. 
o Participate in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings weekly. Explore barriers to client participation, attendance, and completion. Work collaboratively with key stakeholders to increase successful program participation and completion. o Oversee daily operations in the absence of PD. 
o Perform all other duties as required. Qualification: Bachelor's Degree and 3 years’ experience in management and a minimum of 1 year of supervision of staff. Education may be substituted with experience on a year for year basis. Must possess considerable knowledge of case management, substance abuse and community resources. Experience working with offender population in a community/residential program preferred. Experience: Good interpersonal skills, able to deal with a diverse population. 
Licensure: Must have a valid State of Connecticut driver's license and motor vehicle insurance
