Job description

This is an entry level position leading to the full performance level Human Resources Assistant, NF-0203-03 position.
The purpose of the position is to provide assistance to applicants, to assist in the in-processing of new employees, and to provide a full range of support assignments for the Commander Navy Region Hawaii Human Resources Office and Staff at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam.
This position is open only to current CNRH - Navy NAF employees on the island of Oahu.Qualifications:Resumes must include information which demonstrates experience and knowledge, skills, and ability (KSAs) as they relate to this position. Applicants are encouraged to be clear and specific when describing their experience level and KSAs.
A qualified candidate must possess:
Knowledge of, and skill in applying, a standardized body of Human Resources rules, procedures, and operations concerning civilian personnel procedures, requirements, and terminology to provide support to Human Resources Specialists involved in one or more specialties. This knowledge is used to screen and process actions, maintain subject matter organizational and office reference files and records, obtain and/or compile data and provide others basic information.
Knowledge of basic local, CNIC and DON employment requirements required to gain employment in the Federal civil service.
Knowledge of standard human resources rules, procedures, internal requirements, and terminology related to Federal employment activities.
Knowledge of office file arrangement and the propose and content of documents in the files, including OPFs, the ability to file and retrieve information and maintain suspense records in accordance with office filing procedures.
Knowledge of steps and procedures used to process personnel documents.
Ability to make decisions, resolve problems or discrepancies based on knowledge of personnel processing rules, regulations, and procedures.
Ability to understand and provide basic program information.
Knowledge of personnel processing language, procedures and options to process a full range of recurring types of official personnel actions.
Ability to screen visitors and/or determine basic eligibility for employment.
Knowledge of several types of automation systems (e.g. graphics, spreadsheets, etc.) utilizing function keys to perform a wide range duties within each software type.
Skill in oral expression to explain process and procedural matters and provide basic program information.
Knowledge of formats, punctuation, grammar and clerical steps to process and prepare correspondence and documents in an accurate manner.Education:This position does not have a positive education requirement.Employment Type: OTHER
