Job description

E2 Consulting Engineers, LP (E2) is a professional services firm established in 1988 specializing in a full spectrum of engineering services including, project engineering and design, federal base operations and infrastructure support services, gas pipeline construction and inspection services, environmental consulting and remediation, and information technology services. At E2, we value safety, innovation and collaboration, and we are dedicated to excellence.

We are looking for a powerhouse Lead Senior FileMaker / Claris Engineer to help steer our engineering team and architect the future of our platform. This is not a traditional, siloed FileMaker role. You will be instrumental in leading a team of developers while bridging the gap between legacy systems and modern, scalable cloud infrastructures. If you are comfortable designing complex schemas, building robust microservices, and integrating FileMaker with enterprise-grade serverless environments, we want you on board.

  • Technical Leadership: Guide, mentor, and lead a team of software engineers, setting the standard for code quality, architectural design, agile timelines, and production rollouts.
  • Advanced FileMaker Development: Architect, optimize, and maintain complex, multi-tenant FileMaker applications, ensuring high performance and data integrity.
  • Cloud & Microservices Integration: Design and implement seamless integrations between FileMaker and modern cloud infrastructures, utilizing AWS serverless architectures (Lambda, AppSync, DynamoDB).
  • Full-Stack Collaboration: Work extensively with JavaScript and modern front-end frameworks (Angular, React micro-frontends) to build robust user interfaces and decouple legacy dependencies.
  • Database Modeling: Drive advanced database design and data modeling, bridging FileMaker with enterprise relational databases like PostgreSQL (via tools like Hasura).
  • AI & Automation: Identify and implement AI tools and automated workflows to streamline development, accelerate data migration testing, and enhance product capabilities.

  • Expert-Level FileMaker: Absolute dominion over the FileMaker platform, including complex scripting, advanced relational design, server management, and Data API utilization.
  • Cloud Architecture Expertise: Proven experience designing and deploying serverless applications on AWS, with a deep understanding of multi-tenant SaaS structures.
  • JavaScript & Web Technologies: Strong proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+), Node.js, and experience working alongside full-stack engineering teams.
  • Microservices & API Mastery: Extensive background in building, consuming, and securing RESTful and GraphQL APIs.
  • Leadership Experience: A track record of acting as a technical lead, managing aggressive software development timelines, and driving complex integrations across different systems.
  • Forward-Thinking: A hands-on approach to exploring new technologies, including AI integration, to solve complex engineering challenges.

E2 Consulting Engineers, LP offers an excellent benefits package including health, dental, vision, and life insurance, 401(k) with employer match, paid time off.

Salary range for this position is $40,000 - $129,000.  The starting salary will be commensurate with skill, education, experience, and working environment.
