Job description

O'Hagan Meyer LLC, a national law firm, has an opening for a full-time litigation Legal Assistant in its Denver, Colorado office. Successful candidates will have 3-5+ years of experience in a law firm environment. Familiarity with labor and employment or commercial litigation is preferred.

Responsibilities

       Provide comprehensive litigation support to multiple attorneys, managing heavy and complex caseloads.

       Prepare, revise, proofread, and format pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery, and correspondence in compliance with applicable court rules.

       Prepare court filings for state, federal and appellate courts, including electronic and traditional filings.

       Coordinate travel arrangements. Prepare, submit, and track travel and expense reimbursements.

       Assist with discovery and trial support, including document production, exhibit preparation, and court filings. Support scanning, photocopying, and binder preparation as needed.

       Create and maintain filing systems and databases in compliance with office policies to ensure accurate and efficient data retrieval.

       Maintain and monitor litigation calendars, including deadlines, hearings, depositions, and trial dates.

       Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Required Skills

       Strong knowledge of Colorado and Federal court rules and procedures.

       Minimum of three years working as a legal secretary/assistant experience in a law firm.

       Proficiency in ECF filings and other court filing procedures.

       Advanced Word skills, including creating tables, bookmarking, and styling documents. iManage experience a plus but not required.

       Strong proofreading and editing abilities, with a focus on accuracy and grammar.

       Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

       Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain effective working relationships with attorneys and co-workers.
