AVA Consulting is seeking a UI/UX Designer

Location: Portland, OR (Hybrid)

Description:

  • You'll work with some of the best in the industry to design and build relevant, human, and magical vehicle shopping experiences. We're looking for individuals who thrive on the cutting edge in a high-performing, collaborative environment and who are committed to delivering the best possible experience for our customers.
  • This role focuses on hands-on design work, prototyping, and cross-functional collaboration to improve the end-to-end vehicle shopping journey. You will be challenged to balance creativity and usability, using advanced design and prototyping tools, while building strong partnerships with key stakeholders across disciplines. With a focus on craft and execution, you will create innovative and intuitive solutions, tackling complex challenges through product discovery and design thinking.

What you will accomplish:

  • You'll bring excellence in design craft and critical thinking to create cohesive, high-quality product experiences that delight users and drive business impact.
  • Lead the design and execution of end-to-end product experiences from concept to polished UI balancing customer needs, technical feasibility, and business priorities.
  • Apply advanced mastery of Figma and prototyping tools to craft detailed interaction flows, component-level systems, and high-fidelity designs that raise the bar for quality and consistency.
  • Partner closely with product, engineering, research, and content peers to explore opportunities, refine hypotheses, and deliver solutions that connect strategy to execution.
  • Present and articulate design rationale through clear storytelling, connecting design decisions to measurable outcomes and product vision.
  • Maintain well-documented, organized design systems and assets to support cross-team alignment and efficient handoffs.

Requirement:

  • 6+ years of professional product design experience, ideally in ecommerce and/or vehicles.
  • Advance mastery of figma and prototyping tools, with a portfolio that demonstrates impactful contributions to product design and user experience across native and web platforms.
  • Strong storytelling skills in presenting design thinking, rationale, and user journeys to team members and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross-functional partners from content, research, product and engineering, integrating insights and narratives into end-to-end design solutions.
  • Proficiency in workshop participation, user-centered research, and testing to inform design iterations.
  • Inclusive, team-oriented mindset, open to feedback and dedicated to continuous personal development.
