Job description

Circle (NYSE: CRCL) is one of the world's leading internet financial platform companies, building the foundation of a more open, global economy through digital assets, payment applications, and programmable blockchain infrastructure. Circle's platform includes the world's largest regulated stablecoin network anchored by USDC, Circle Payments Network for global money movement, and Arc, an enterprise-grade blockchain designed to become the Economic OS for the internet. Enterprises, financial institutions, and developers use Circle to power trusted, internet-scale financial innovation. Learn more at circle.com.

What you'll be part of:

Circle is committed to visibility and stability in everything we do. As we grow as an organization, we're expanding into some of the world's strongest jurisdictions. Speed and efficiency are motivators for our success and our employees live by our company values: High Integrity, Future Forward, Multistakeholder, Mindful, and Driven by Excellence. We have built a flexible work environment where new ideas are encouraged and everyone is a stakeholder.

At Circle, we are moving from a phase of rapid expansion to one of sophisticated scale. As we grow, the foundational systems that power our products need to mature.

We are looking for a Lead Product Designer to join our Identity Team. This is a horizontal platform role, meaning you won't just be building features for one user type; you will be architecting the "front door" of Circle. You will design the systems-like Authentication, Roles & Permissions, and Billing-that every other product team at Circle will rely on.

We need a builder who loves logic, systems, and consistency, but who refuses to compromise on beauty. We are looking for someone with a strong background in Visual and UI design who can bring a level of polish and craft that sets the standard for the rest of the organization.

What you'll work on:

Transforming Chaos into Order: Circle is transforming from a startup to a mature tech organization. You will audit existing, fragmented workflows and unify them into a cohesive platform experience.

Unified Identity: You will design how users experience Roles, Permissions, and Team Management, taking complex logic and making it intuitive for admins and end-users alike.

Centralized Billing Infrastructure: You will design a scalable billing and subscription experience that unifies how customers pay for different parts of the Circle ecosystem.

Security meets UX: You will tackle high-stakes flows like Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), SSO setup, and account recovery, ensuring that security never comes at the expense of usability.

What you'll bring to Circle:

  • Platform & Systems Experience: You have a proven track record working on platform teams, internal tools, or design systems. You understand the difference between designing a feature and designing a framework.

  • Exceptional UI & Visual Design Skills: Your portfolio demonstrates a mastery of typography, color, layout, and hierarchy. You care deeply about "fit and finish" and pixel perfection.

  • Complexity Wrangling: You are not intimidated by technical complexity. You can take a messy requirements document regarding permissions or enterprise billing and turn it into a clean, logical UI.

  • Component-Based Thinking: You are an expert in Figma. You don't just draw screens; you build scalable components using auto-layout, variables, and variants that other designers can easily consume.

  • Strategic Communication: As a Lead, you can articulate the "why" behind your design decisions. You are comfortable presenting to leadership and negotiating with engineering partners to maintain design quality.

Empathy for Internal & External Users: You understand that your "users" are both the customers of Circle and the internal developers and designers who have to build with your tools.

Circle is on a mission to create an inclusive financial future, with transparency at our core. We consider a wide variety of elements when crafting our compensation ranges and total compensation packages.

Starting pay is determined by various factors, including but not limited to: relevant experience, skill set, qualifications, and other business and organizational needs. Please note that compensation ranges may differ for candidates in other locations.

Base Pay Range: $172,500-$225,000

We are an equal opportunity employer. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status, or any other protected status required by the laws in the locations where we hire. Additionally, Circle participates in the E-Verify Program in certain locations, as required by law.

Should you require accommodations or assistance in our interview process because of a disability, please reach out toaccommodations@circle.comfor support. We respect your privacy and will connect with you separately from our interview process to accommodate your needs.
