Full Stack Developer

Key Tasks:
  • End-to-End Development: Design, develop, test, and deploy full-stack web applications using modern frameworks (e.g., React.js for the frontend and Java/Spring Boot for the backend).
  • Cloud Integration: Architect and deploy scalable microservices within Amazon Web Services (AWS) environments, utilizing services such as AWS Lambda, EKS, RDS (PostgreSQL), and S3.
  • DevSecOps & Automation: Integrate code into automated CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab, Maven) to ensure continuous integration, continuous deployment, and automated security testing (e.g., SonarQube, Fortify) prior to production release.
  • Database Engineering: Design and optimize database schemas, queries, and migrations, transitioning legacy architectures to modern, cloud-native relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL).
  • Security & Compliance: Ensure all software products comply with the Risk Management Framework (RMF), NIST 800-53 controls, and specific agency security policies.
  • Collaboration: Participate in Agile ceremonies (Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Retrospectives) and collaborate cross-functionally with UI/UX designers to implement Human-Centered Design (HCD) principles.
  • System Performance: Monitor application health and performance using tools like Splunk and New Relic, proactively resolving bugs, performance bottlenecks, and security vulnerabilities.

Required Skills:
  • Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of professional experience in full-stack software development.
  • Frontend Technologies: Proficiency in modern JavaScript frameworks, specifically React.js, alongside HTML5, CSS3, and responsive design principles.
  • Backend Technologies: Strong programming skills in Java, J2EE, and the Spring Boot framework, with a deep understanding of RESTful API design and microservices architecture.
  • Database: Proven experience with relational databases, specifically PostgreSQL, including complex query optimization and data mapping.
  • Cloud/DevOps: Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services (GovCloud preferred) and containerization/orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes).

The proposed salary range for this position in Virginia is 162,150 to 259,440. Final salary will be determined based on various factors.
