As a Lead Digital Product Designer - User Experience, you will lead the creation of high-quality, user-centric experiences across associate tools. You will operate as a senior individual contributor-driving discovery, defining and validating solutions, and partnering with various groups to solve sophisticated customer and business problems. You will also help shape organization- and company-level design direction through strategic influence, design system leadership, and mentorship. You will help lead the Vision and User Experience across several key associate platforms, ensuring a more flawless and connected experience. You will be an associate and customer evangelist among many successful technology teams! You will work closely with our associates across a multitude of Customer Groups to ensure we are listening to folks at our branches to sales teams to our project managers. You help to continue to make our sales team the best in the industry.

Location: This is a Hybrid role based out of our HQ location in Newport News, VA, in accordance with our Flex schedule; 3 days office / 2 days remote.

Travel up to 25% to Ferguson locations nationwide to observe operations firsthand, engage with end users, and gather insights that drive user-centered solutions and improve the overall experience.

Responsibilities:
  • Critical to the success of the sales organization to ensure their experience exceeds the needs of the business, drives productivity, and supports the best customer experience.
  • Subject matter expert across the entire sales associate experience including but not limited to - CRM, Project Management, Order Management, and Quotations platforms.
  • Thought leader in ensuring the sales organization's digital experience drives business outcomes and recommends standard guidelines.
  • Works with the field, executive strategic leadership and delivery teams to ensure associate experience needs are met.
  • Translate customer needs and problem statements into clear experience goals and solution direction.
  • Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs using Figma and related tools.
  • Validate and iterate solutions through user testing and data analysis.
  • Lead and contribute to VOC research including interviews, surveys, usability testing, analytics, and competitive analysis.
  • Identify and contribute VOC-driven opportunities to product roadmaps.
  • Design within and lead evolution of design systems and accessibility standards.
  • Partner across multiple teams including product, engineering, analytics, and leadership.
  • Support translation of strategic plans into Product and Business OKRs.
  • Provide mentorship, coaching, and project leadership and help grow the UX team.

  • Strong multi-functional communication and influence skills.
  • Proven track record to mentor peers and lead through influence.

  • Experience leading design for sophisticated product ecosystems or enterprise platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior leaders and multi-functional collaborators without direct authority.
