What jobs in the US pay 300,000 a year?

Figma developers typically do not reach a $300,000 annual salary, as this level is more common in executive roles, specialized software engineers, or senior product managers. High-paying tech roles such as software architects, engineering managers, or senior UX/UI designers with extensive experience and skills in design tools like Figma can approach or exceed this salary range. Achieving such compensation often requires advanced expertise, leadership responsibilities, and working in high-demand industries or companies.

What is a Figma Developer?

A Figma Developer is a professional who specializes in using Figma, a collaborative interface design tool, to create, prototype, and refine user interfaces for web and mobile applications. They often bridge the gap between design and development by turning Figma designs into interactive prototypes or production-ready code. Figma Developers work closely with designers and front-end engineers to ensure design consistency and usability across digital products. Their expertise includes working with Figma's features, plugins, and sometimes integrating Figma assets with development workflows.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Figma Developer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Figma Developer, you need a strong grasp of UI/UX design principles, proficiency in Figma, and a solid understanding of front-end development languages like HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Familiarity with design systems, prototyping tools, and version control platforms such as Git is typically required. Collaboration, attention to detail, and effective communication are crucial soft skills for translating design concepts into functional, user-friendly interfaces. These skills ensure high-quality, consistent digital products and smooth collaboration between design and development teams.

How much does a software engineer at Figma make?

Software engineers at Figma typically earn a salary ranging from $100,000 to $160,000 annually, depending on experience, location, and role level. Compensation may also include stock options and benefits, especially for senior positions or specialized skills in UI/UX design and front-end development.

How does a Figma Developer typically collaborate with designers and other team members during a project?

A Figma Developer works closely with designers by translating design prototypes into interactive, production-ready components while ensuring the final product matches the intended user experience. They often participate in design handoff meetings, provide technical feedback, and use Figma's collaborative features to communicate changes and resolve questions in real time. Additionally, they may work alongside front-end developers, product managers, and QA specialists to ensure seamless integration of designs into the development workflow. This role requires strong communication skills and a proactive approach to addressing design and technical challenges.

Job description

Junior UX Designer / UX Producer

Position Type: Full-time
Compensation: Depending on Experience
Schedule: 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
Work Arrangement: In-office Monday through Thursday, with Flex Fridays

About the Role

Forix is seeking a Junior UX Designer to help create user-centered ecommerce experiences for leading brands across Shopify, BigCommerce, Adobe Commerce (Magento), WooCommerce, and other ecommerce platforms.

This is not a visual or UI design role. Our UX team focuses on strategy, problem-solving, information architecture, conversion optimization, wireframing, and defining how ecommerce experiences should function. Our UI Design team translates that strategic direction into high-fidelity visual design.

This is also a client-facing consulting role. You'll regularly participate in client meetings, present wireframes and UX recommendations, explain the reasoning behind your decisions, gather requirements, and collaborate directly with stakeholders throughout the design process.

Working alongside Senior UX Strategists, you'll help translate business goals, customer needs, analytics, and ecommerce best practices into clear, actionable user experiences. You'll receive mentorship and guidance while being trusted to take ownership of assigned work, communicate proactively, and continually grow your strategic thinking.

If you're excited about understanding why users behave as they do, improving online shopping experiences, and solving business problems through UX—not by designing polished interfaces—this role is for you.

Core Responsibilities

  • Create low- and mid-fidelity wireframes, user flows, and page structures in Figma.
  • Present UX concepts, wireframes, and recommendations to clients and internal teams.
  • Explain design decisions using UX principles, analytics, business goals, and ecommerce best practices.
  • Participate in discovery sessions, client meetings, design reviews, and brainstorming workshops.
  • Gather requirements and translate client feedback into actionable UX recommendations.
  • Develop information architecture, navigation strategies, customer journeys, and page structures.
  • Define the functionality and behavior of ecommerce templates, components, and user interactions.
  • Create clear documentation, functional annotations, and implementation-ready requirements for UI Designers and Developers.
  • Conduct UX audits, heuristic evaluations, competitive reviews, and usability assessments.
  • Analyze analytics, heatmaps, customer behavior, and user journeys to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Review completed work to ensure it aligns with approved UX recommendations.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers, UI Designers, Developers, QA, and Strategists throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Manage multiple assignments while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced agency environment.

Typical Deliverables

Depending on the project, deliverables may include:

  • Low- and mid-fidelity wireframes
  • User flows and customer journey documentation
  • Sitemap and navigation recommendations
  • Theme, template, and component requirements
  • Homepage, product listing page, product detail page, cart, and checkout recommendations
  • Functional annotations and development handoff documentation
  • UX audits and heuristic evaluations
  • Competitive research
  • Conversion optimization recommendations
  • Accessibility and usability recommendations
  • Design quality assurance and implementation reviews

You'll Thrive in This Role If You...

  • Enjoy solving problems more than creating polished visuals.
  • Are comfortable presenting ideas and speaking with clients, or excited to build those skills.
  • Can explain the reasoning behind your decisions with confidence.
  • Are curious about customer behavior and ecommerce best practices.
  • Like collaborating with developers, project managers, and designers.
  • Enjoy balancing user needs, business goals, and technical constraints.
  • Appreciate organization, documentation, and attention to detail.
  • Want to grow into a strategic UX role rather than focusing solely on UI design.

Qualifications

  • 0–2 years of professional experience, internship experience, or relevant training in UX design, interaction design, digital strategy, eCommerce, or a related field
  • Foundational understanding of user-centered design, usability, information architecture, and interaction design
  • Familiarity with Figma and collaborative design workflows
  • Ability to create organized wireframes, user flows, and functional documentation
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to clearly explain design decisions and requirements
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow established processes and design systems
  • Comfortable receiving feedback, asking questions, and iterating on work
  • Ability to work independently while knowing when to involve senior team members
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines
  • Interest in eCommerce, conversion optimization, and improving the online shopping experience
  • Willingness to learn and grow within a fast-paced agency environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Exposure to Shopify, BigCommerce, Adobe Commerce/Magento, WooCommerce, or other eCommerce platforms
  • Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, responsive design, and front-end development concepts
  • Experience working with eCommerce page types, themes, templates, or component-based design systems
  • Familiarity with web analytics, heatmapping, user testing, or conversion-rate optimization
  • Understanding of accessibility standards and responsive design best practices
  • Experience collaborating with UI Designers, Developers, Project Managers, or other cross-functional team members
  • A portfolio or work samples demonstrating UX thinking, wireframing, problem-solving, and documentation skills

What Success Looks Like

A successful Junior UX Designer / UX Producer at Forix will:

  • Produces thoughtful, organized, and implementation-ready UX deliverables.
  • Confidently presents ideas and recommendations to clients and internal teams.
  • Clearly communicates design rationale and asks thoughtful questions.
  • Builds strong relationships with clients and cross-functional team members.
  • Balances user needs, business goals, analytics, and technical feasibility.
  • Creates documentation that enables UI Designers and Developers to execute with confidence.
  • Demonstrates increasing ownership of projects from discovery through implementation.
  • Continuously improves through curiosity, feedback, and a willingness to learn.
