About the Role
This is an in-office role at CommLoan's headquarters in Scottsdale, AZ.
As a Principal Product Designer, you’ll set the experience vision for our AI-driven SaaS platform. You’ll balance hands-on design craft with strategic influence across product, technology, and business teams. You will share insights, build elegant workflows and translate complexity into intuitive, and delightful experiences.
You’ll work closely with executives, engineers, and product managers to redefine how commercial loans are originated, evaluated, and closed—all while mentoring designers and elevating the overall design culture across the company.
What You'll Do
Lead Strategic UX Transformation
  • Define a bold UX vision to simplify complex CRE lending workflows into intuitive user journeys
  • Translate business challenges into scalable systems and frameworks
Design with Craft and Versatility
  • Deliver full design outputs: wireframes, prototypes, user flows, and high-fidelity experiences
  • Design across multiple touchpoints—borrower dashboards, lender workflows, AI-driven recommendations via mobile and web—ensuring seamless and consistent experiences
Elevate the Design Practice
  • Mentor and guide other designers, offering critique, sharing best practices, and instilling a culture of design excellence
  • Champion accessibility, inclusivity, and usability at every step
Collaborate and Influence
  • Partner deeply with Product, Engineering, and AI teams to deliver innovative features
  • Work directly with executives to shape product direction, influence key decisions, and advocate for user needs

What We're Looking For
Experience & Expertise
  • 7+ years of experience in product design/UX, with a strong portfolio demonstrating SaaS platform and marketplace design
  • Proven experience working on complex fintech, mortgage, or real estate products
  • Background at companies like Zillow, Rocket Mortgage, Trulia, Blend, LendingTree, Plaid, Redfin, Compass, or SoFi is highly desired
Skills & Craft
  • Mastery of modern design tools (Figma, Sketch, etc.) and design systems
  • Strong in Information Architecture, interaction design, prototyping, and usability testing skills
