Job description

Essential Job Functions and requirements of the Pest Control Technician:

  • Knowledge of pests, rodents, and other vermin.
  • Knowledge of pest control products, services, treatments, regulations, and safety procedures.
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle.
  • Ability to enter/exit structures and crawl spaces, climb over and on top of structures, ascend and descend stairs and ladders.
  • Ability to use required personal protective equipment.
  • Ability to visually inspect for pests, pest entries, etc.
  • Ability to tolerate variety of environmental conditions, including seasonal weather, damp and/or dusty locations.
  • Follows all JP McHale Pest Management Company policies, procedures and guidelines.
  • Follows OSHA/FIFRA policies and procedures when carrying out pest control services.
  • Operates company vehicle safely; and maintains vehicle to comply with DOT and company guidelines.
  • Completes services as scheduled and provides appropriate documentation of services performed.
  • Reports and paperwork are thorough, accurate, legible, and on time.
  • Acts quickly and effectively to address actual or potential problems.
  • The ability to meet the physical demands of the job; walking, bending, kneeling, climbing, lifting & carrying up to 40 lbs., etc.
