Position Summary

Prepare and execute menu items with consistency, speed, accuracy, and exceptional presentation while maintaining Henderson Sport & Social's culinary standards.
Line Cooks transform quality ingredients into exceptional guest experiences by executing every plate with consistency, urgency, and attention to detail. Every plate represents Henderson Sport & Social.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Prepare and cook menu items according to standardized recipes, specifications, and presentation standards.
  • Rotate between kitchen stations as certified, continuing cross-training to expand culinary knowledge and earn additional station certifications.
  • Set up, stock, organize, and maintain assigned stations after, during, and after service.
  • Monitor product quality, cooking temperatures, food presentation, and portion consistency.
  • Follow food safety procedures including temperature control, FIFO rotation, allergen awareness, cross-contamination prevention, knife safety, and equipment sanitation.
  • Identify and communicate quality concerns immediately, including poor ingredients, recipe inconsistencies, or any issue affecting the guest experience.
  • Assist Prep Cooks, Dishwashers/Stewards, Expo, and fellow Line Cooks whenever operational needs require.
  • Maintain a clean workstation and complete opening, closing, cleaning, and side work assignments.
  • Remain flexible and move to any kitchen station needing support during service.
  • Complete additional operational duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events.
  • Knowledge of commercial kitchen operations or willingness to learn.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Positive attitude with a passion for culinary excellence.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous line cook experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and proper food handling.
  • Desire to continue developing culinary skills and advance within the kitchen.
Physical Requirements
  • Stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
  • Frequently lift and carry up to 45 pounds.
  • Occasionally lift or move up to 80 pounds with assistance.
  • Safely operate commercial kitchen equipment and work in hot, fast-paced conditions.
  • Maintain a professional appearance while working under pressure.
