The Opportunity

The Value Stream Leader is accountable for the end-to-end performance, flow, and outcomes of a defined value stream, ensuring alignment to business strategy while enabling teams to operate with autonomy, clarity, and purpose.

This leader blends deep operational/technical expertise with servant leadership, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and psychological safety. Success in this role requires the ability to translate strategy into execution, optimize systems (people, process, and technology), and develop high-performing, empowered teams.

What you will do?

Value Stream Ownership

  • Accountable for end-to-end value stream performance across strategy, execution, and outcomes
  • Ensure alignment of priorities, resources, and delivery to achieve business objectives
  • Own and improve key performance outcomes including cycle time, throughput, cost, quality, and customer experience
  • Drive visibility and transparency of performance through standard metrics and reporting

Technical & Operational

  • Lead end-to-end value stream optimization (mapping, redesign, and flow acceleration) to improve cycle time, throughput, cost, and quality
  • Establish and manage KPIs, visual management, and operating cadence to ensure performance transparency and accountability
  • Apply Lean / Agile / Six Sigma methodologies to drive continuous improvement and operational discipline
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement scalable, sustainable countermeasures
  • Translate strategy into prioritized initiatives, execution plans, and roadmaps
  • Drive data-based decision-making to continuously improve delivery and outcome
  • Identify constraints, conduct root cause analysis, and implement scalable, sustainable solutions
  • Translate strategy into prioritized initiatives, resourcing plans, and execution roadmaps
  • Drive data-based decision-making, using insights to continuously improve outcomes
  • Partner cross-functionally to align processes, technology, and resources for seamless delivery

Leadership & People

  • Enable team performance through servant leadership, removing barriers and supporting execution
  • Build capability in problem-solving, continuous improvement, and ownership
  • Set clear expectations and drive performance accountability
  • Develop leadership bench strength through coaching and succession planning
  • Foster a culture of operational excellence, transparency, and continuous improvement
  • Enable value stream leaders with clear accountability, performance visibility, and decision-making authority.
  • Align metrics, incentives, and governance to reinforce end-to-end value delivery vs. functional silos.

Operational Excellence (SPQDC & Lean)

  • Champion a Safety-first culture and ensure compliance with all EH&S and regulatory standards.
  • Deploy and sustain SQDC performance management systems, including tiered accountability and visual management.
  • Lead Lean transformation initiatives including value stream mapping, standard work, waste elimination, and continuous flow.
  • Establish consistent operating rhythms (Gemba walks, daily management, KPI reviews) across all sites and value streams.
  • Drive continuous improvement in throughput, quality, delivery performance, and cost efficiency.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Engineering to ensure design for manufacturability and value stream efficiency
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain to ensure material flow and supplier alignment to value stream needs
  • Align with Finance on forecasting, budgeting, and performance management
  • Provide executive-level insights and recommendations to senior leadership

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations, or a related field or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in manufacturing operations, operational excellence, Lean management, or value stream leadership roles.
  • Experience leading value streams, operations, or transformation initiatives
  • Demonstrated impact on flow, cost, quality, and delivery performance
  • Experience influencing across functions without direct authority

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proven track record of leading value stream-based organizations, with end-to-end ownership
  • Demonstrated success in Lean transformation, including value stream mapping, flow optimization, and waste elimination at scale
  • Proven ability to lead in complex, high-growth, and fast-paced environments.
