We're searching for a motivated, detail-oriented Field Services Technician II to join our field sampling team in Plano, TX.


In this role, you'll perform regulated environmental sampling, water and wastewater sample collection, environmental monitoring, field inspections, and specialized field operations, including independent execution of environmental sampling programs and operation of automated composite sampling equipment. This position also plays an important role in supporting environmental laboratory operations and requires flexibility to assist with laboratory workflows, sample receiving, sample preparation, and operational support as business needs require.


This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with backgrounds in environmental science, environmental services, wastewater operations, water treatment, utilities, industrial services, laboratory support, environmental compliance, field sampling, or technical field operations who enjoy hands-on outdoor work, operational variety, and cross-functional responsibilities.


What You'll Do

  • Perform regulated environmental sampling at municipal, industrial, and commercial sitesย 
  • Collect and transport water, wastewater, groundwater, and other environmental samplesย 
  • Deploy, retrieve, program, operate, and maintain composite sampling equipmentย 
  • Load, unload, and transport samplers, coolers, and field equipment at client sitesย 
  • Conduct field inspections, measurements, and environmental monitoringย 
  • Identify and resolve routine sampling or equipment issuesย 
  • Maintain sample integrity, preservation, chain of custody, and holding timesย 
  • Complete field logs, electronic records, and compliance documentationย 
  • Prepare and maintain sampling kits, equipment, coolers, and suppliesย 
  • Support in-house sample receiving, verification, and preparation as neededย 
  • Communicate professionally with clients and escalate non-routine issuesย 
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

What We're Looking For

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; Vocational training in a related technical field preferred
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience in field services, regulated field sampling, or related technical roles
  • Familiarity with field sampling techniques and equipment operation, including composite and/or automated samplers, strongly preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and basic computer applications
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record


Work ย Schedule, Travel, & Physical Requirements

  • Full-time, field-based position
  • Ability to work outdoors and operate a company vehicle for extended periods in all weather conditions
  • Ability to lift and carry equipment weighing 35-70 pounds for up to 100 yards, depending on site requirements
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including start times as early as 6 AM, variable end times based on operational needs, and extended days, evenings, weekends, or overtime - sometimes with limited notice.ย 
  • Regular exposure to chemicals and strong or unpleasant odors (e.g., wastewater or industrial materials)
