Environmental Monitoring Technician

Location: Hillsboro, OR (Onsite)
Pay Rate: $26/hour (W2)
Schedule: Full-Time (Shift flexibility required, including weekends as needed)
Duration: 12-Month Contract

We are seeking an Environmental Monitoring (EM) Technician to join the Analytical Development & Testing (ADT) team supporting next-generation Cell & Gene Therapy manufacturing. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with environmental monitoring, microbiology, laboratory, cleanroom, or GMP experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform viable air and surface sampling, non-viable particulate monitoring, and critical utility monitoring in cleanroom and manufacturing environments.
  • Ensure compliance with cGMP regulations, SOPs, and internal quality standards.
  • Use Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) for sample scheduling, documentation, data entry, and reporting.
  • Support investigations and response activities when environmental monitoring limits are exceeded.
  • Verify environmental monitoring equipment is calibrated and ready for use.
  • Prepare disinfectants and reagents, maintain laboratory equipment, and manage inventory of laboratory supplies.
  • Follow all cleanroom gowning, PPE, and aseptic procedures.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and communicate quality or regulatory concerns promptly.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Biology, Microbiology, Chemistry, or another related scientific discipline OR previous Environmental Monitoring experience.
  • Basic knowledge of cGMP regulations, aseptic processing, and cleanroom operations is preferred.
  • Experience working in laboratory, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, or manufacturing environments is a plus.
  • Familiarity with LIMS is preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work in a cleanroom environment while wearing required PPE.
  • Frequent standing, sitting, bending, reaching, twisting, and lifting up to 25 lbs.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts and weekends based on manufacturing needs.
