Company: Bostic Steel


Bostic Steel is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience managing projects in the miscellaneous metals and structural steel industry and will be responsible for coordinating projects from planning and engineering through fabrication and field installation.

Position Summary


The Project Manager plans, directs, and coordinates designated projects to help ensure they are completed within established time frames and budgets. This position is responsible for job scheduling, shop drawings, approvals, and coordination between the shop and engineering departments.


Key Responsibilities


  • Review project proposals and plans to determine project schedules, procedures, and potential code discrepancies.
  • Coordinate engineering and shop drawing detail phases and verify code requirements.
  • Direct and coordinate project activities to help ensure projects remain on schedule and within budget.
  • Communicate with project personnel to provide technical guidance and resolve problems.
  • Coordinate drawings and shop fabrication to meet project schedules and requirements.
  • Manage requisition cycles, including schedules of values.
  • Price Requests for Change Orders (RCOs) and coordinate with estimating as needed.
  • Coordinate erection activities with field superintendents and contractors after fabrication.
  • Coordinate with internal personnel as necessary throughout project execution.
  • Help resolve engineering issues and coordinate technical developments and scheduling.
  • Evaluate design changes, specifications, and drawing releases.
  • Visit jobsites on a weekly basis and document job progress with pictures and field measurements before fabrication.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Qualifications


  • Minimum of 5 years of Project Management experience in the miscellaneous metals and structural steel industry.
  • Knowledge of AISC requirements and industry technical terminology.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Strong knowledge of project planning, organizing, directing, coordinating, and controlling.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including intermediate-level Excel skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational, multitasking, and time-management abilities.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and proactively resolve issues.
  • Professional attitude and strong customer service and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to understand and work with the various documents generated throughout project execution.
