Museum Guide Training

Exciting news for art enthusiasts! Get ready to embark on a fantastic journey as the Morris Museum of Art offers museum guide (also known as docent) training starting on August 10 through November 2, 2026. (Excluding September 1 for Labor Day.) Every Monday at 1pm, you'll have the chance to dive into the world of art and become an amazing museum guide. No worries if you're not an art history guru - this training is designed for all levels of knowledge.

As a guide, you'll have the incredible opportunity to lead tours for school groups and the local community, sharing the magic of art with them. Volunteer with us and let's inspire others with the beauty and wonder of the Morris Museum of Art! FREE, All materials provided. There are also many benefits to becoming a docent/museum tour guide: museum membership, discounts in the gift shop, exclusive docent field trips, a book club, luncheons, and free contining education.

  • If you are not able to do this training session but are interested in becoming a docent, we will have another 12 week course in the spring of 2027, specific dates to be decided. If you would like to get on a list to be informed about future training, please email bpolizzi@themorris.org.
