Job description

Field Landman - Northeast New Mexico
Engagement: 1099 Contract | Start: Mid-June 2026 | Location: On-site in Northeastern New Mexico (not remote)
About the Role
Paramount Field Services is staffing a project in Northeast New Mexico and is hiring field landmen to work at county courthouses and abstract plants in the region. This is a boots-on-the-ground role - not a remote desk role. You will work from a tract list provided by the project team, sourcing and pulling documents that are not available online and feeding them back to a remote title team.
Local candidates are strongly preferred. Out-of-area candidates willing to travel and stay on-site for the project duration will also be considered (per diem provided for travelers).
This is not an entry-level position, and on-site training will not be available. You should already know your way around a New Mexico courthouse and abstract plant on day one.
What You'll Be Doing
  • Work tract lists at abstract plants - record book and page numbers, instrument types, and other indexing data needed by the remote title team
  • Submit and track document requests with county clerks per each office's required process
  • Pull records and run names at county courthouses
  • Image or photograph documents and upload to a shared project site in real time
  • Daily check-ins with the Project Manager on progress and blockers

Required Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience working independently at New Mexico courthouses and abstract plants
  • Solid working knowledge of land records, indexing systems, and instrument types
  • Strong attention to detail when recording references and document data
  • Reliable transportation, laptop, and smartphone; able to upload documents from the field
  • Must be able to work on-site in Northeast New Mexico - remote-only candidates will not be considered

Preferred Qualifications
  • Currently based in Norteast New Mexico or within reasonable driving distance
  • Prior abstract plant and county clerk experience in the region
  • AAPL membership; RPL or CPL designation a plus

Engagement Details
  • Structure: 1099 contract, project-based
  • Compensation: Competitive day rate, commensurate with experience
  • Travel: Per diem provided for non-local contractors
  • Start Date: Mid-June 2026
  • Duration: TBD

How to Apply
Submit your resume and a brief note on (1) your home base, (2) your availability to start, and (3) which New Mexico courthouses and abstract plants you have worked in. Qualified candidates will be contacted for a short phone screen.
Paramount Field Services is an equal opportunity employer.
