Senior Landman, Oil & Gas Title

Paramount Field Services |

Position Summary

Paramount Field Services is seeking an experienced Senior Landman to lead title research, curative work, and client facing land services across Texas, New Mexico, and Oklahoma. This role requires a seasoned professional who can independently examine title, negotiate and draft oil and gas contracts, and serve as a trusted point of contact for clients throughout the life of an engagement. The ideal candidate combines deep technical title expertise with strong relationship management skills and a track record of delivering accurate, on time work product in a fast paced land brokerage environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough title examination and prepare comprehensive runsheets, ownership reports, and title opinions for properties in Texas, New Mexico, and Oklahoma
  • Research county deed, probate, and lease records at courthouses and through online platforms to establish chain of title and identify curative issues
  • Draft, review, and negotiate oil and gas leases, farmout agreements, division orders, right of way agreements, and other land related contracts
  • Resolve title defects through curative work including affidavits, releases, ratifications, and stipulations
  • Serve as primary client contact on assigned projects, providing regular status updates, managing expectations, and building long term client relationships
  • Coordinate and mentor junior landmen and contract landmen on assigned projects, reviewing work product for accuracy and completeness
  • Manage multiple concurrent projects and deadlines across state lines, adjusting to varying county recording practices and regulatory requirements
  • Prepare and present acquisition and divestiture packages, due diligence summaries, and staffing recommendations as needed
  • Maintain accurate, well organized project files and ensure timely delivery of work product to clients and internal stakeholders
  • Stay current on relevant oil and gas law, regulatory changes, and industry standards in all three states
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 7 to 10 years of experience as a landman, with a strong focus on oil and gas title work
  • Proven, verifiable experience working title and land matters in Texas, New Mexico, and Oklahoma specifically
  • Demonstrated ability to independently run title, identify curative needs, and see curative through to resolution
  • Strong working knowledge of oil and gas leases, contracts, and standard industry documents, with hands on drafting and negotiation experience
  • Excellent client facing communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to manage client relationships professionally under deadline pressure
  • Working knowledge of county recording systems and courthouse procedures across all three states
  • Proficiency with title software, GIS mapping tools, and standard office software
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel regularly, including multi day trips
  • Registered ProfessionalLandman (RPL) designation preferred
Preferred Attributes
  • Prior experience in a land brokerage or consulting environment supporting multiple clients simultaneously
  • Experience mentoring or supervising contract landmen
  • Familiarity with CO2, mineral, or non operated asset packages a plus
  • Reputation in the industry for reliability, discretion, and sound judgment
