Position Overview

At Unified Door & Hardware Group (UDHG), we're looking for a dependable and detail-oriented Field Installer to support our commercial projects from the ground up. In this hands-on role, you'll measure door openings, observe field work for quality and compliance, and help ensure accurate, timely installations. Working closely with our VP of Field Operations, you'll play a vital role in bridging field and office operations, gaining exposure to all aspects of project execution.

Responsibilities and Qualifications

Key Responsibilities

  • Administrative & Office Coordination
    • Coordinate various office tasks such as data entry, answering phones, emails, and filing
    • Provide administrative support and work closely with VP of Field Operations
  • Field Operations
    • Measure door openings
    • Maintains a set of marked-up record drawings for construction projects
    • Observes work in progress to determine if procedures and materials comply with plans and specifications
  • Repair & Record Management
    • Schedule repair work orders
    • Maintain accurate records for easy reference and reporting
  • Safety  
    • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse environment
    • Follow all safety protocols and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements to maintain a safe working environment
    • Use proper lifting techniques
    • Adhere to all driving regulations based on state and/or jurisdiction policies such as wearing a seatbelt
    • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment, safety shoes and clothing
  • Physical Requirements
    • Frequent use of hands and arms for equipment operation, grasping and manipulation 
    • Frequent driving or sitting in a truck, forklift or other similar equipment for multiple hours a day
    • Frequent pushing, pulling, lifting or carrying building materials weighing approximately 100 pounds, using proper lifting procedures; and occasionally pushing, pulling, lifting or carrying greater weights.  Pushing and pulling carts loaded carts over various distances and surfaces.  Some functions may be performed as a team
    • Additional physical requirements may be needed as duties are assigned

    Qualifications

    • Good knowledge of construction methods and procedures
    • Self-starter with excellent communication and customer service skills
    • Follow established safety rules and regulations to maintain a safe and clean environment
    • Good time management skills, professional dress, and behavior
    • Proficient in mS Office Suite (Word, Excel and Outlook)
    • Knowledge of Hollow Metal Door and Frame experience a plus
