We're looking for a Weatherization Field Technician Crew Lead who takes pride in craftsmanship, leadership, and meaningful work. In this role, you'll lead a crew improving homes through energy-saving upgrades that lower utility costs and increase safety for the families we serve.

You'll work in the field alongside your team-installing, problem-solving, and ensuring every job meets the highest standards-while coordinating with leadership to keep projects running smoothly and on schedule.


Schedule & Location

  • Hours: Monday-Thursday, 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM (3-day weekends)
  • Location: Currently Vineyard, relocating soon to Provo
  • Position Type: Full-time, hourly (40 hours/week)


What You'll Do

Lead & Manage

  • Oversee and manage the Weatherization Field Technician crew and daily schedule
  • Coordinate with leadership to meet monthly and annual production goals
  • Ensure all work meets Utah Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP) Field Guide standards
  • Review completed jobs and approve final installations
  • Maintain a safe job site, including proper PPE use
  • Track inventory and complete work orders accurately

Field Work & Installation

You'll stay hands-on in the field, performing and guiding work such as:

  • Air sealing (attics, ducts, bypasses) to reduce energy loss
  • Installing insulation (attics, ductwork, pipes, water heaters)
  • Installing vapor barriers in crawl spaces
  • Replacing windows and exterior doors (double-pane vinyl, insulated fiberglass)
  • Installing ventilation systems and ensuring proper exhaust venting
  • Installing safety equipment (smoke alarms, carbon monoxide detectors)
  • Performing blower door testing and worst-case draft testing
  • Supporting HVAC-related weatherization improvements

Client Interaction

  • Review project details and paperwork with homeowners
  • Provide clear education on improvements and energy savings
  • Maintain a professional, respectful, and clean presence in clients' homes


What You Bring

  • Strong leadership and on-site project management experience

Certifications (Required Within 1 Year)

  • OSHA 30
  • Building Science Principles
  • Lead Safety Certification
  • RMGA Certification
  • Weatherization Crew Lead Certification

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma (or equivalent)
  • 2+ years of related experience or equivalent training
  • Experience leading teams
  • EPA and RMGA certifications (preferred)
  • Knowledge of weatherization techniques and materials (preferred)

Work Environment

  • Work takes place in client homes and outdoors
  • Includes attics, basements, crawl spaces, and living areas
  • Frequent local travel required

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
  • Frequent bending, kneeling, crawling, climbing, and balancing
  • Comfortable working in tight or confined spaces
