Summary:
Position Overview: The New York Mets are seeking enthusiastic, energetic individuals who are passionate about Citi Field and the New York Mets. The ideal candidate is someone who sees Citi Field for all its treasures, and their ability to share the rich history of the New York Mets. This job is much more than reading facts off a sheet. Tour hosts carry a huge responsibility to make the guest experience memorable, entertaining, informative, and seamless.
Pay Rate:
$19/hr
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Provide a consistent level of premium service and promotion of Mets fandom.
  • Share the story of the Mets through informative facts, engaging content, open discussions, and world class storytelling.
  • Escort tour guests around Citi Field, following a predetermined itinerary.
  • Confidently speak in front of large visitor groups, describe points of interest, and respond to questions.
  • Politely welcome all arriving visitor and manage queuing until their tour host arrives to begin the experience.
  • Monitor visitor's activities to ensure compliance with establishment or tour regulations, safety practices, designated areas.
  • Provide guests with accurate information about the Citi Field Tour Experience, packages, and pricing while promoting Mets fandom.
  • Exercise ticketing, check-in, dispatch processes, and guided tours maintenance an acceptable pace and are on-time.
  • Participant in on-going Host training and development provided by the leadership team.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of positive, productive culture while also leading by example.
  • Support and offer contributions to management regarding strategy and initiatives.
  • Provide prompt, accurate and professional customer service.
  • Ensure assistance for guests with special requirements of ADA needs.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:
Experience and Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor's degree is a plus.
  • Significant work experience in customer service preferred.
  • Experience with public speaking is a plus.
  • Able to memorize and recite facts clearly and accurately.

Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skill and ability to excel at multi-tasking and working under pressure.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule which includes weekdays, and special events.
  • Ability to work constructively in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Maintain a professional personal appearance, attitude, and work behavior at all times.
  • Friendly and nurturing disposition.
  • Flexibility and adaptability are required.
  • Ability to speak in other languages is a plus.
