Position Summary
  • This position will be responsible for leading highly technical projects, will be expected to make detailed presentations, demonstrate strong technical writing ability to create reports, and may be expected to train and mentor less experienced engineers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Commit to FIELD's Mission Statement and Core Values.
  • Regular engagement with existing customers, potential customers, and current suppliers to provide extensive product and application knowledge, testing, presentations and other technical contributions.
  • Lead high-level projects and operating plan initiatives, develop cost saving initiatives.
  • Coach and mentor less experienced engineering team members.
  • Maintain effective communication with internal and external contacts and provide engineering information by answering questions and requests.  
  • Create and deliver effective presentations in order to communicate Field capabilities and results.
  • Analyze problems, develop and present alternative solutions and influence eventual outcomes.
  • Effectively work with a cross section of the company, including sales, engineering, quality, and account management. 
  • Create and deliver effective training on fasteners and fastening knowledge with the Field team and external customers.
  • Engage in ongoing formal training on fasteners and fastening to achieve desired results.
  • Take on additional responsibilities and demonstrate flexibility in both work schedule and work environment based on business needs.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or 10+ years of application engineering experience.
  • Minimum 8+ years of fastener/fastening experience
  • Proficient on Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook; prior experience with CAD programs: Auto CAD, Solid Works or Pro/ENGINEER beneficial.
  • Experienced, results-driven and independent thinking; capable of taking on higher level projects and working with little to no direct supervision.
  • Work in a fast-paced, team-based environment.
  • Utilize strong time management, analytical, and leadership skills with a commitment to being detail oriented.
  • Be highly motivated, well organized, and results driven while working with limited direct supervision.
  • Thorough and demonstrated understanding of mechanical engineering principles.
  • Mechanical aptitude, mechanical hands-on, roll-up your sleeve desire.
  • Project management experience.
  • Able to utilize a wide range of technical and mechanical devices for testing.
  • Travel to support business activities between 25+ % which may include some overnight travel.
