Job description

RK&K is looking for a self-motivated, Field Engineer in our Raleigh, NC office to work on local municipal projects. As a Field Engineer II with RK&K you will support civilconstructionprojects from start to completion related to highway, roadway, bridge and related facilities.

Essential Functions

  • Coordination of a variety ofconstructionprojects to consultation, investigation, evaluation, planning, designof public or private utilities, structures, machines, equipment, processes,transportationsystems and work systems
  • Communication with internal team and external clients
  • Accurate logging of activities on work site
  • Running point on inspections of roadway and bridges
  • Assisting with inspections and other on-site meetings

Required Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or construction management/science
  • 2-7 years of experience inConstruction Inspection orConstruction Management
  • Ability to coordinate simultaneous tasks
  • Proficiency in communicating technical information
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills

Physical Demands

This role requires the ability to perform field inspections on active construction sites. The employee must be able to stand and walk for extended periods, navigate uneven terrain, and climb ladders or stairs.Ability to lift and carry inspection equipment and materials weighing up to 20-30 pounds on an occasional basis, with or without reasonable accommodation. Work is performed outdoors in varying weather conditions and may include exposure to construction-related hazards.
