Position Summary
Tetra Tech is seeking a Civil Engineer, EIT to support the design and delivery of civil infrastructure projects in our Miami office. This role includes work on grading and drainage, stormwater systems, complete streets, active transportation facilities, and water and sewer infrastructure. The Civil Engineer, EIT will assist with technical design, construction documents, and permitting while working in a collaborative, growth-oriented environment alongside experienced engineers and project managers.
Essential Functions:
  • Conduct research related to engineering policies and practices,
  • Conduct calculations to support planning and design objectives, including hydrologic and/or hydraulic analysts,
  • Prepare engineering reports
  • Develop or prepare descriptive charts, figures/maps, and tables/matrices,
  • Support design analysis through the application of quantitative and qualitative evaluation techniques,
  • Prepare and draft construction documents (plans and specifications),
  • Support cost-benefit analysis,
  • Perform field work or construction observation,
  • Perform writing assignments to contribute to project documentation and deliverables such as memos and reports,
  • Assist with quality control and assurance; and
  • Prepare permit applications and support materials.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (or related field).
  • Engineer in Training certification.
  • 1+ years of relevant civil engineering experience is a plus.
  • Experience with municipal, commercial, or residential infrastructure projects.
  • Familiarity with elements of the design-bid-build process including engineering analysis, permitting, development of construction, documents (plans and specifications), cost estimating, and construction administration and observation.
  • Experience with AutoCad.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and technical writing.
  • Strong communication, analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
