Challenging Bridge Projects. Grow your Career. Build the Future.

Are you a skilled bridge engineer with a passion for delivering high-quality infrastructure solutions? We’re seeking a Bridge Engineer to join our Western New York Transportation Department and help us deliver some of the largest and most complicated infrastructure projects in Upstate New York.

Our Western New York Bridge team is expanding, and we’re excited to offer you the opportunity to be part of the largest bridge program in our team's history. With active projects in nearly every county across the region, you'll play a key role in shaping critical infrastructure.

This unprecedented workload not only brings meaningful technical challenges to keep you engaged and learning, but also opens the door to unlimited career growth. If you're looking to make a real impact while advancing your professional journey, there's never been a better time to join us.

In this role, you’ll support bridge engineering projects from initial planning and design through construction support. Working under the guidance of senior engineers, you’ll contribute to structural analyses, prepare design documents, and assist with field inspections. You’ll bring a strong foundation in civil or structural engineering, a willingness to learn, and a collaborative mindset to help deliver innovative, sustainable, and cost-effective solutions.

You’ll also play a key role in shaping two of the most impactful infrastructure efforts in Upstate New York: the I-81 Viaduct Project and the Onondaga County/Micron Transportation Improvements—projects that will redefine mobility and connectivity in Central New York.

With these transformative projects driving unprecedented momentum, our team is growing rapidly—and so are the opportunities. You’ll step into a role with clear pathways for advancement, the chance to shape the future of our department, and the support, visibility, and resources to take your career wherever you want it to go.

  • Team Collaboration: Work within a young, dynamic team in progressing challenging bridge projects, gaining technical knowledge and project management expertise from your peers and higher-level staff. Contribute to a collaborative, growth-oriented team culture.

Skills, Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • 0-5 years of experience in bridge design
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD/Civil 3D and/or MicroStation/OpenRoads
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Compensation and Benefits:

Estimated Salary Range: $73,424 - $104,624*
