Job description

Job Title: Field Foreman – Bridge Installation Crews

Location: Nationwide Travel (Home Base Flexible)

About Bridge Brothers

Bridge Brothers is a leading manufacturer specializing in the design, engineering, fabrication, and construction of custom steel bridges. We serve municipalities, national parks, energy companies, and private developers across the country.

We build one-of-a-kind structures in demanding environments. Our work is physical, technical, and often dirty — and we take pride in doing it right. When you join Bridge Brothers, you’re not sitting behind a desk — you’re building infrastructure that lasts generations.

Position Summary

Bridge Brothers is seeking a Field Foreman to lead and work alongside our bridge installation crews nationwide. This is a very hands-on, labor-driven role — you will be in the field nearly every week, wearing PPE, turning wrenches, rigging steel, and setting the pace for the crew.

This role is not a desk superintendent or a clipboard manager. You are the working leader on site, responsible for safety, productivity, quality, and execution. You’ll be the first one in and the last one out, setting the standard through action.

If you enjoy travel, physical work, problem-solving in real time, and leading crews from the front, this role is built for you.

Key ResponsibilitiesField Leadership amp; Installation Work
  • Lead bridge installation crews on-site by working directly alongside them.

  • Perform hands-on installation work including:

    • Rigging and signaling crane picks

    • Steel erection, bolting, and fit-up

    • Welding support and coordination

    • Alignment, leveling, and final installation tasks

  • Set daily work plans, pace, and expectations for the crew.

  • Enforce safety standards through direct involvement and example.

Jobsite Execution
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, shop drawings, and install plans.

  • Coordinate day-to-day activities with crane operators, subcontractors, and internal teams.

  • Identify field issues early and make practical, real-time decisions to keep work moving.

  • Ensure installs meet Bridge Brothers quality standards and project specs.

Safety amp; Accountability
  • Own jobsite safety — conduct tailgate talks and enforce PPE and OSHA requirements.

  • Stop unsafe work immediately and correct issues on the spot.

  • Maintain clean, organized, and efficient jobsites.

Communication amp; Reporting
  • Serve as the on-site point of contact during installations.

  • Provide clear daily updates on progress, challenges, and needs.

  • Assist with punch lists, final adjustments, and close-out activities.

Qualifications
  • Proven hands-on experience in construction, steel erection, heavy civil, or bridge work.

  • Prior experience as a foreman, lead hand, or crew lead preferred.

  • Comfortable performing physical labor in all weather conditions.

  • Strong working knowledge of:

    • Cranes and rigging

    • Structural steel installation

    • Bolting and welding operations

  • Ability to read and understand construction and engineering drawings.

  • Willing and able to travel nearly year-round (50+ weeks per year).

  • OSHA 10 or 30 preferred (or willingness to obtain).

  • Valid driver’s license required.

Role Details
  • Schedule: Full-Time, heavy travel (most weeks of the year)

  • Employment Type: Exempt, Salaried

  • Location: Nationwide – home base flexible

  • Benefits: Medical, dental, vision, life insurance, PTO, paid holidays (eligible after 90 days)

  • Equipment: Company phone provided
