Job description

Position Overview

RRc is seeking a talented Field Geologist II to help build the future of U.S. energy production from our Round Rock, Texas office. This is a fullโ€‘time position based in the Round Rock, TX office. RRC is a multiโ€‘disciplinary engineering firm specializing in energy projects, particularly renewable energy, throughout the United States. Essential Responsibilities
  • Perform fieldwork for geotechnical subsurface investigation programs and geophysical surveys as instructed by engineering staff. This includes geotechnical drilling and sampling, visual field reconnaissance, and soil and rock logging.
  • Conduct geophysical surveys such as seismic surveys, earth electrical resistivity surveys, and other surveys directed by a project geophysicist.
  • Observe and document geotechnical construction activities and perform construction material testing/inspection during construction phases.
  • Perform other engineering activities as required.
Qualifications
  • BS or Associate degree in Civil Engineering, Geology, or Geophysics preferred; high school diploma required.
  • Willingness to travel 95โ€“100% throughout the United States and work in various site conditions and project locations.
  • Proficiency with MS Office computer programs.
  • Previous experience in outdoor/field working and driving conditions preferred.
  • Previous experience in geotechnical drilling/sampling and construction material testing in soil and concrete preferred.
  • Willingness to relocate to RRCโ€™s Round Rock, TX office.
  • Valid driverโ€™s license and a clean driving record required.
  • Good oral and written communication skills and ability to lead or be part of a project team.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize workload, and deliver quality results on time.
  • Physical requirements: prolonged sitting, walking, standing, and lifting up to 15 lbs.
