Job Description:

Core Switching Group (CSG) Software Field Applications Engineer (FAE) will be supporting industry leading XGS-Tomahawk series of products in AI clusters for scale up, scale out, scale across applications. This individual will be responsible for top-5 cloud customers who are leaders in compute and AI/ML space.

Key responsibilities are to assist customers in running SoNIC, switch development kit in their OS/platform environment, be familiar with embedded OS's like linux, identify s/w bugs, write/suggest software fixes, suggest the appropriate use of APIs to implement features like traffic management, congestion control, scheduling, give SDK overview presentations. Understand ethernet protocol/switching/packet processing architecture thoroughly and answer customers' questions regarding the features, providing timely and accurate information. Work with Field Sales Engineers to increase demand for Broadcom Wired Segment products. Understand the customer's application in order to identify key technology and product features for next generation products. Act as technical liaison between Core Switching Group Software Development Team, Factory Application Teams and the customer. This position is part of sales organization. You must be permanent resident/US citizen. This is an onsite position in Broadcom San Jose office and not relocation eligible.
Job Requirements:

-Be able to understand millions of line of code and write patches

-Expert in Ethernet L2/L3 switching protocols 2 years experience as a field applications engineer (highly desired but not a must)

-BSEE/BSCS required. Strong verbal and written communication skills.

-Team player, independent, self-starter, "can-do" attitude, adaptable to rapidly changing market requirements, ability to prioritize and multitask.

-Be able to handle intense pressure and be able to execute.

-Be able to build strong relationships with customers.

-Past record of success.

Education/Experience:

Bachelor's degree and 8+ years experience in embedded networking software design and developmentor Masters degree and 6+ years experience in embedded networking software design and development

Compensation and Benefits

The On Target Earnings (OTE) range for this position is$140,600 - $225,000

OTE includes Sales Incentive Commission in accordance with relevant plan documents and salary.In addition, as a valued member of our team, you'll be eligible to receive a competitive new hire equity grant and annual equity awards, directly connecting your success to the company's growth. All subject to relevant plan documents and award agreements.
