How you will make an impact:

The Hollow Fiber Technician will assist in the production of membrane for Hollow Fiber Filter production, using various machines and equipment. This role also requires very high attention to detail and process instructions.

  • Prepares chemical formulations according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and work instructions provided, capable of measuring liquids and mixing powders in solvents, calculating ratios, performing multiplications, and adjusting compositions as stated in SOPs or as requested by staff engineers.
  • Handles delicate materials with patience and attention to detail to ensure product quality, critical attention to detail to ensure proper operation of equipment as material is soft and requires care and attention at startup and wind-down.
  • Operates optical microscope and test equipment to verify output product is within specifications and understands how to adjust the manufacturing equipment accordingly if output product is outside of specification limits.
  • Ensures product schedules, and quality targets are met and provides supervisor / manager with timely feedback on discrepancies displaying urgency when required.

This is an on-site role based out of our headquarters in Camarillo, CA.

The skills and experience youll need:

  • Ability to understand and carry out instructions, either oral or written according to SOPs.
  • Ability to detect problems as they arise in the production process, correcting or escalating to ensure resolution.
  • Mechanical ability using sharp tools & mechanical equipment.
  • Ability to read and execute machine manuals.

Work Environment

Hollow Fiber Filter Production is performed in an ISO Class 8 cleanroom environment.  Powder free gloves, face masks, hairnets, gowns, and shoe covers must be worn.  Shorts, skirts, loose or baggy clothing is not permitted. Socks and closed shoes are required. Makeup, other than skin moisturizers, is not permitted.  Because smokers continue to shed thousands of smoke particles even hours after smoking a cigarette, and these particles will damage our filter products, only non-smokers are permitted to enter or work in the cleanroom.
