  • Follow all safety standards, traffic control requirements, and company policies

Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1--3 years of experience locating fiber optic or telecom utilities
  • Strong understanding of underground fiber construction methods (direct buried, duct, conduit systems)
  • Experience using locating equipment (EM locators, sondes, tracer wire techniques)
  • Ability to read and interpret fiber maps, splice prints, and construction drawings
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
  • Ability to work independently and outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Strong attention to accuracy, safety, and documentation

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with OSP fiber networks (long-haul, metro, or access)

  • Familiarity with GIS systems, mapping software, or mobile field applications
  • Previous experience supporting fiber construction or maintenance crews
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification
  • Damage prevention or utility protection training

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to walk long distances over uneven terrain
  • Ability to work in roadside, easement, and active construction environments
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods

What We Offer

  • Company vehicle, tools, and locating equipment (if applicable)
  • Medical, dental, and vision benefits
  • Paid time off and holidays
  • Stable, in-house position with consistent workload
  • Direct support of company-owned fiber infrastructure
  • Opportunity for advancement within OSP operations
