Job Description Summary:
As a Senior Construction Laborer - Telecom, you'll take on a lead-level role supporting aerial and underground telecom construction. This position requires advanced field experience, the ability to operate heavy equipment, and mentoring less experienced laborers while maintaining safety and efficiency.
Job Description:
What You'll Do
  • Perform advanced labor tasks such as conduit placement, handhole installation, cable placement, and emergency call-out support.
  • Lead small labor teams and report progress to foremen.
  • Operate trenchers, tampers, and mini-excavators safely and efficiently.
  • Safely dig and work around active fiber and copper cables.
  • Train and mentor junior laborers on safe work practices.
  • Interpret construction drawings and ensure accurate execution.
  • Participate in on-call rotation schedules and travel to project sites as required, including overnight stays.

What You'll Bring
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 4-6 years of telecom or construction experience.
  • Valid driver's license (CDL preferred).
  • Ability to lift up to 80 lbs and work in demanding field conditions.

Preferred Qualifications
  • OSHA 30 or equivalent certification.
  • Experience with FTTH, backbone, or long-haul fiber projects.
  • Proficiency with heavy equipment and utility locators.
