Fiber Installer

Job Description:

The Fiber/FTTX Installer is responsible for the installation, support, and troubleshooting of fiber equipment and LVC in both commercial and residential buildings along Pavlov Media’s fiber backbone. This role also includes the installation of fiber enclosures.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a customer-first approach to ensure exceptional customer satisfaction.
  • Travel to assigned sites to complete work orders as needed.
  • Consistently share information and feedback with internal teams.
  • Handle calls, emails, and work orders from Pavlov Media HQ.
  • Demonstrate effective troubleshooting skills and apply them as necessary.
  • Read and understand network diagrams and technical manuals.
  • Communicate with homeowners regarding installation preferences and address any concerns.
  • Ensure network quality meets Pavlov Media's high standards.
  • Install CCG fiber in residential homes from underground vaults.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications: 

  • 1-2 years of experience in LVC and/or fiber installations.
  • 1-2 years of troubleshooting experience with networking issues.
  • Knowledge of grounding techniques, Cat5, fiber optics, and LAN/WAN networks.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 75 pounds.
  • Experience using hand tools.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to pass a drug test.
  • Must be able to travel up to 80% locally with same-day travel, and up to 10% for overnight travel.

  • Aptitude for interpreting, maintaining, and creating fiber optic splice maps.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot connectivity issues.
  • Ability to assemble fiber enclosures and cans, and fasten them securely to building structures.
  • Strong understanding of networking devices and wireless access points.

Physical Requirements: 

The successful candidate will be able to perform the following with or without reasonable accommodation: 

  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Compensation & Benefits:

The salary range for this position is: $20.00-$28.00/hr


Work Authorization

Actual base pay for this job will depend on the candidate's primary work location and other factors, such as relevant skills and experience. Pavlov Media is committed to complying with the Equal Pay Act and places a strong emphasis on internal equity when determining compensation. Final pay will be determined based on the candidate’s skills, experience, and alignment with our internal equity standards, ensuring fairness and consistency across the organization. The salary banding for this role also allows room for growth, with opportunities for pay increases within the band based on performance and contributions.
