Main daily job duties will include: Cable installing, cable dressing, labeling, material management for cable installing (copper and fiber

Cable Tech 1

Pull cable

Assist Tech 2

Run and handle materials

Utilize hand/ power tools

Climb ladders

Layout and install wireway, buss duct, cable tray, switches receptacles and other devices

Will build closets (Mount and install backboards, cross connects, racks, patch panels, fiber optic and hardware). Install grounding for racks, equipment and cable as required. Complete all IDC connections (e.g. terminate 110/66 blocks and patch panels).

Pulls wire and/or oversees and directs conduit installations and wire pulling.

Operates tools/equipment, normally requiring the use of two hands (examples: cable cutters, hammer drills, compression tools, jack hammers, etc.)

Additional Skills & Qualifications

The standard work environment for this position is an indoors business office and construction environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. This role requires sitting, use of hands and arms, verbal communication, and occasional physical movement such as stooping or kneeling. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The employee must regularly carry and climb ladders to 20 feet. Must be able to operate equipment such as scissor lifts, telehandlers, boom lifts, and UTVs (buggies) if required to do so. The employee may also be required to work in tight and confined spaces. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Castroville, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00/hr.
