Since 2006, we have managed over $4 billion and partnered with more than 400 founders, investing from pre-seed through scale. We partner with entrepreneurs who are striving to build category-defining companies across software, consumer brands, and sustainability. Some of our notable investments include Applied Intuition, Braintree, CharacterAI, Fetch, Hidden Road, Hippocratic AI, OpenAI, OpenEvidence, Pika, Prezent, Reken, Scopely, Shipt, Stability AI, ThreadAI, TogetherAI, Venmo, and Whatnot. OBJECTIVE

The Chief of Staff will sit in meetings with the Managing Partner, build a first-principles understanding of the firm's network, portfolio, and institutional goals, and act on that understanding with speed, discretion, and sharp judgment. The firm has dedicated leaders in finance, legal, compliance, IR, marketing, talent, and technology. The Chief of Staff multiplies the Managing Partner's personal capacity: their network, their preparation, their voice, and their ability to coordinate across a growing organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Network Intelligence

  • Maintains a dynamic map of the Managing Partner's network - tracks key relationships, priorities, and next steps
  • Identifies and facilitates high-value introductions, while also assisting in expanding and strengthening the network through deliberate planning

Voice and Content

  • Owns all external content and channels (LinkedIn, blog, podcast, video)
  • Produces end-to-end content in the Managing Partner's voice from ideation and writing to production and distribution

Cross-Firm Coordination

  • Serves as the Managing Partner's central coordination layer, flagging where leadership input is needed and ensures timely decisions
  • Coordinates across legal, compliance, IR, and finance, ensuring alignment and timely execution

Strategic Preparation

  • Owns preparation for key meetings (LPs, boards, events, internal strategy)
  • Synthesizes inputs into clear, decision-ready materials, including briefs, decks, and narratives that simplify complexity

Portfolio Operations

  • Supports select portfolio companies post-board meeting by driving execution across GTM, AI, KPIs, hiring, and fundraising
  • Translates strategy into actionable plans and tracks follow-through

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2+ years of experience at a top consulting firm, or previous Chief of Staff experience supporting a CEO or Managing Partner within a fast-paced startup or investment management organization
  • Undergraduate STEM degree, ideally in computer science or engineering
  • Previous experience and/or interest in engineering or software development preferred
  • AI-first in both mindset and workflow; daily user of tools like ChatGPT or Claude
  • Uses AI to optimize processes, draft content, build automations, and prototype solutions, and proactively brings new AI tools and capabilities into the organization
  • Exceptional analytical and written/verbal communication skills
  • Ability to thrive in an unstructured, entrepreneurial environment with incomplete data
  • Strong relationship management, collaboration, and influencing skills
