About the Job:
The Manager Revenue Cycle - FEO (Front-End Operations) is responsible for the operational leadership and performance of front-end revenue cycle functions, including Patient Access, Pre-Services, Pre-Authorization, and Financial Counseling. This role ensures patients are accurately registered, financially cleared, and informed of their financial responsibility prior to or at the time of service. This position partners closely with the Director Revenue Cycle – Front End Operations to execute strategic initiatives, drive key performance outcomes, and ensure a seamless, patient-centered access experience. 

 

What you'll do: 
•    Oversees daily operations of registration, scheduling, pre-registration, prior authorization, patient estimates, collections, and financial counseling
•    Ensures patients are financially cleared prior to service through accurate eligibility, timely authorization, and clear communication of financial responsibility
•    Leads financial counseling and assistance programs, including patient education and regulatory compliance
•    Drives improvement in pre-service collections, patient understanding, and reduction of avoidable bad debt
•    Owns performance across registration accuracy, authorization timelines, collections, work queue productivity, and access to care
•    Monitors volumes and workflows to maintain steady state, reduce backlogs, and improve throughput
•    Manages supervisors and staff, including performance, coaching, staffing, and development
•    Supports career growth across Patient Access functions
•    Partners with leadership and cross-functional teams to implement initiatives and optimize workflows (e.g., Epic, work queues, automation)
•    Leads process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce errors, and enhance patient and staff experience
•    Ensures compliance with payer requirements, CMS regulations, and organizational policies
•    Provides regular reporting on performance, trends, and outcomes; escalates risks with recommendations
•    Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
•    Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function
•    Performs other related duties as assigned
•    Competent to meet age-specific needs of the unit assigned

 

Requirements and Minimum Qualifications
•    Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, or related field required; relevant certification and 5 years related experience may be accepted in lieu of a bachelor’s degree
•    Minimum 7 years’ progressive experience in Patient Access, Revenue Cycle, or Pre-Service/Financial Counseling required
•    Minimum 3 years’ leadership experience required
•    Hospital or multi-site health system experience required
•    Previous Epic or similar EMR experience preferred
•    Revenue Cycle certification (e.g., CRCR through Healthcare Financial Management Association) preferred
•    Strong knowledge of front-end revenue cycle operations, insurance verification, authorization, and patient financial experience
•    Proven ability to lead operations, drive performance, and implement process improvements
•    Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills with patient-centered approach
