What You'll Be Doing...
The Business Intelligence Architect plays a critical role in supporting Fenner's end-to-end BI ecosystem by transforming business information needs into a modern, scalable, and future-proof data architecture. This position is responsible for maintaining and enhancing the Fenner Data Warehouse-spanning Microsoft Azure, Databricks, and other supporting systems-while ensuring consistent, accurate, and accessible data for business decision-making.
The BI Architect also mentors BI Analysts and partners closely with business functions to develop meaningful analytics, improve data governance, and identify new opportunities for digital and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Data Warehouse & Pipeline Management
  • Maintain daily operations of the Fenner Data Warehouse and analytics ecosystem.
  • Build new data pipelines to incorporate additional data sources into the data lake.
  • Maintain and optimize existing pipelines to ensure complete, accurate, and timely data delivery.
  • Design, develop, and maintain ETL processes to transform raw data into actionable information.
  • Create indicators, dimensions, and data models to ensure clarity, consistency, and quality of data.

Analytics Solution Development
  • Assist business teams in defining digital data needs and translating them into use cases.
  • Analyze technical and functional solution options to recommend the best fit for each business scenario.
  • Independently or collaboratively develop new analytic solutions, reports, and dashboards.
  • Support the business in creating meaningful visualizations that drive insight and decision-making.

Governance, Quality & Best Practices
  • Partner with stakeholders to establish data ownership, governance, and compliance structures.
  • Create and execute unit testing procedures to ensure high-quality and reliable BI solutions.
  • Document, maintain, and improve existing analytics assets and processes.
  • Ensure adherence to established configuration, testing, change control, and data security practices.

Leadership & Mentorship
  • Provide technical mentoring to BI Analysts and associates developing BI visualizations.
  • Promote confidence and trust by guiding users in applying BI tools effectively.
  • Deliver high-quality customer service through clear communication, respect, and patience.
  • Support a culture of Lean Continuous Improvement through data-driven insights and opportunities.

General
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
  • Model and uphold Fenner Precision Polymers' Values and Behaviors at all times.

Qualifications
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, ideally with a focus on Business Intelligence/Analytics or Data Engineering.

Experience & Skills
  • 3-5 years of experience in data engineering or building data models for BI/visualization tools such as Power BI.
  • Expertise in designing and building dimensional data models for high-performance analytics.
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server tools including SSRS, SSAS, SSIS, and DAX.
  • Proficiency with Azure Cloud and Analysis Services.
  • Strong advanced SQL skills, including performance tuning.
  • Passion for creating visually compelling dashboards and reports using Power BI.
  • Strong analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
