Description
All candidates must be female, or a person regardless of their assigned sex at birth identifies as a woman.
PRIMARY PURPOSE
The primary responsibility of a peer recovery mentor is to provide support to individuals throughout their recovery journey. Regardless of the stage of change the individual is in, the mentor offers guidance, support, and encouragement without judgment and remains open to all forms of treatment options. The mentor acts as a role model for recovery, while also assisting families in accessing community resources. This may include attending appointments, coordinating transportation, and making referrals. Additionally, mentors provide information and education on recovery alternatives, relapse prevention, accessing physical and behavioral health resources, social and life skill support for parenting children, and helping to meet the family's basic needs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
90% Engage with Referred Families, up to a caseload of 20 families.
  • Accept and initiate contact within 24 hours for all assignments.
  • Attend and participate in multi-agency and community meetings as required and/or assigned.
  • Completing all documentation and managing family files in accordance with Family Tree Relief Nursery, the Oregon Government Ethics Commission, and MHACBO (Mental Health and Addiction Certification Board of Oregon).
  • Follow the FTRN service delivery model, which includes but is not limited to, time frames, person-centered, trauma-informed, and strength-based approach to aid in the recovery and empowerment of families.
  • Keep documentation, and all other Family Tree Relief Nursery reporting requirements, up to date within 48 hours of family contact.
  • Provide comprehensive outreach services ranging from home visits to community support.
  • Work with families to establish goals that will assist them by regular in-person contact focusing on all aspects of wellness and specialized support.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
10% Other Duties
  • Present in Court as required.
  • Support Front Office Coordinator with answering phones, and greeting visitors as needed.

General Expectations:
  • Attend and participate in required supervision, team meetings, All-Staff meetings, and Family Tree Relief Nursery training as required.
  • Attend Community and family events as assigned.
  • Complete all data and reports in the timeframes stipulated.
  • Comply with all health and safety standards per state regulations.
  • Comply with State guidelines regarding mandated reporting of suspected abuse and/or neglect.
  • Document hours and mileage in accordance with Family Tree Relief Nursery policies
  • Maintain a neat, clean, and professional appearance.
  • Maintain an acceptable driving record, driver's license, reliable transportation, and auto insurance while employed by Family Tree Relief Nursery
  • Maintain strict confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA, CF42, and Family Tree Relief Nursery's policy and procedures.
  • Obtain required continuing education as needed ensuring continued required certification requirements for Family Tree Relief Nursery position based upon compliance and programming needs.
  • Participate in Family Tree Relief Nursery fundraising activities as assigned.
  • Participate in the delivery of Parent Education in accordance with Family Tree Relief Nursery Programming
  • Serve as a member of one Family Tree Relief Nursery Committee, carrying out duties of this committee as agreed during regular meetings.
  • Serve as a member of one Family Tree Relief Nursery Event Committee, carrying out duties of this committee as agreed during planning meetings.

Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
  • All work performed shall be in alignment with the philosophy and in keeping with the mission and values of Family Tree Relief Nursery.
  • Associate or bachelor's degree in addiction studies, human services, family studies, or related field. Work and/or life experience considered in lieu of education.
  • Basic knowledge of child maltreatment indicators and prevention of abuse; must attend or have a record or recent training of mandatory reporting.
  • Certified Peer Recovery Mentor certification or the ability to obtain within a 180-day introduction period.
  • Exhibit dependability, flexibility, punctuality, and strong time management skills.
  • Have or obtain and maintain Oregon Food Handler's Card & Adult and Pediatric CPR & First Aid certification.
  • Must have reliable transportation and maintain a valid driver's license for your state of residency, personal auto liability coverage, and a driving record permitting coverage under the corporate liability policy. All employees driving for work purposes, regardless of whether driving a personal or agency vehicle must complete the agency's driving approval process before they drive for work.
  • Pass Family Tree Relief Nursery criminal background check per Family Tree Relief Nursery's policies and/or be currently enrolled in the OHA Traditional Health Worker Registry
  • Two years of professional experience in a social service organization with support and recovery services, high-risk populations, treatment programs, parent education, and family systems.
  • Two years of recovery, at least from substance use and/or misuse.

Physical and Mental Demands: The role requires the ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, lift (up to 25 lbs.), push, pull, reach, manipulate, carry, and key/type. It also involves intense mental and visual attention for complex tasks that require planning and execution. Working Conditions: Typically performed in comfortable conditions with minimal disagreeable elements. Attendance and Safety: Adherence to FTRN attendance and call-in policies is essential, along with understanding and following all safety rules and standards in compliance with company policy.
