Responsibilities
The University of South Alabama Health System helps people lead longer, better lives through its excellence in education, research and medical care. With more than 5,500 employees, USA's health network includes USA Health University Hospital, USA Health Children's and Women's Hospital, USA Mitchell Cancer Institute, USA Physicians Group, USA Health Care Authority, and the USA College of Medicine. Each year, our team of 601 faculty and physicians, 289 residents and fellows, 165 advanced practitioners, and 1,340 nurses handle some 556,000 physician encounters. The USA Health system delivers 2,400 babies a year, more than any other regional hospital, and treats patients through some 72,000 emergency room visits annually. The Department of Surgery at the University of South Alabama is seeking a Board Certified/Eligible Surgeon who has completed a fellowship in Plastic Surgery at the Assistant Professor or Associate Professor level to join the faculty as a Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon in Mobile, Alabama. The successful candidate will have a keen interest in academic surgery in the areas of patient care, medical education, and research. Applicants should be board eligible or boarded by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. Teaching general surgery residents, medical students, and advanced practitioners is an integral part of the program.
