Job Description:
At SUMO servers take orders, serves food and beverages to customers in our establishments. Greet customers, present menus, and explain daily specials. Also responsible for ensuring that customers have a satisfying dining experience. Provide fast, efficient, and courteous service. Emphasize personal, attentive treatment at a more leisurely pace.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provides a positive customer experience with fair, friendly, and courteous service
  • Familiarize customers with the menu and make appropriate suggestions when requested
  • Collects payments by accepting cash, check, and charge payments from customers
  • Check ID to ensure minimum age requirement is met
  • Must be over 21 to serve alcoholic beverages
  • Notify kitchen personnel of food orders, shortages, or special orders
  • Serves appetizers, salads, cold dishes and beverages
  • Recognize customer intoxication in accordance with Kumori policy
  • Assisting with the tidying of tables, clearing leftovers and keeping the dining/work areas neat and pleasant
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Must have great customer service skills and demonstrate oral or written communication skills
  • Computer Skills
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must be able to obtain Food Handlers and TABC's permit within two weeks prior employment

Physical Requirements:
  • Lift up to 10 lbs.
  • Remain on your feet for several hours at a time
  • Bend, Kneel, stoop, and sweep frequently
