Join our ground transport team in Clinton, Maryland as an Emergency Vehicle Operator/EMT where you'll medically transport patients to other medical/hospital facilities working closely with Paramedics and Critical Care nurses.

Now offering a limited-time $8,000 Sign-on Bonus - $3,000 after successful completion of orientation and probation; $2,500 after 12 months; $2,500 after 18 months.
Shifts: 40 hours/week working 12-hour shifts (7AM-7PM, 7PM-7AM, 8AM-8PM, 8PM-8AM, 11AM-11PM) with three shifts one week and four shifts the next, rotating between day and night shifts and including every other weekend. Self-scheduling available.
Location: Report in/out of Clinton, MD (by MedStar Southern Maryland Hospital Center) or Baltimore, MD (by MedStar Harbor Hospital).
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Graduation from high school or Equivalent
  • NREMT certification required
  • Current NREMT and State EMT for MD and DC (or ability to obtain DC within 30 days after hire).
  • Valid Driver's License
  • BLS Certification
  • EVOC certification
  • Current valid BLS

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Safely and efficiently operate ground ambulance while obeying driving laws
  • Inspect Ambulance at the start of each shift to confirm ready for safe use
  • Maintain professional radio communications with MedSTAR Transport and other agencies, adhering to appropriate FCC protocols
  • Transport patients to various locations as assigned
  • Load and unload patients, medical equipment and passengers from MedSTAR Transport vehicles
  • May assist in the unloading and transportation of patients from other transportation vehicles

Licenses and Certifications.
  • NREMT - National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians-Basic (EMT-B) required
  • EMT - Emergency Medical Tech in the District of Columbia within 30 Days required
  • EMT - Emergency Medical Tech in Maryland within 30 Days required
  • "MedSTAR Transport" or "Mid Atlantic Air Transportation Services" affiliation as an EMT prior to release from orientation Required
  • CPR - Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation (includes BLS and NRP) for healthcare providers from either the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross within 90 Days Required Additional unit/specialty certifications may vary by department or business unit. FEMA ICS 100 Course prior to release from orientation Required FEMA ICS 200 Course FEMA IS-200.c Basic Incident Command systems for Initial Response prior to release from orientation Required DL - Valid State Driver's License in good standing Required No more than four points assigned to driver's license and must maintain a satisfactory driving record (no more than four points).
  • Completion of approved Emergency Vehicle Operations Course (e.g., CEVO, EVOC) prior to release from orientation
