Salary:  $55,000 - $62,000

Job Summary

Ready to take your leadership skills to the next level in a fast-paced campus environment? Chartwells Higher Education is seeking an Assistant Director of Dining Services I – Residential Dining at Felician University in Rutherford, NJ!

In this role, you’ll be a key leader in overseeing the daily operations of  the residential dining hall on campus as well as a new retail location. From leading and developing a high-performing team to driving operational success and building strong client relationships, you’ll play an essential part in delivering an outstanding dining experience for students.

Predictable Schedule with Flexibility - Enjoy a schedule that offers more consistency than many food service roles. While flexibility is needed at times to support campus events and operational needs, the typical schedule is: Tuesday–Friday: 12:30 PM–8:30 PM / Saturday: 9:15 AM–7:30 PM / Sundays & Mondays off.  This structure provides a great work-life balance while still offering the variety and energy of a campus dining environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Works with the Chef and management team in creating nutritious and top quality food.
  • Implements new culinary programs in conjunction with the marketing and culinary teams.
  • Maintains excellent relationships with the client.
  • Manages, trains, and develops associates.
  • Performs other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications:

  • 1 to 3 years of food service management experience.
  • Experience in restaurants, hotels, corporate dining, education, military, health care, and/or related food service operations.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Financial experience and business acumen skills.
  • Proficient computer skills and knowledge of MS Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and internet.
  • Associate’s degree is preferred.
