Filterbuy, a leader in the air quality and manufacturing world, is seeking a Weekend Shipping Supervisor to oversee outbound shipping operations and lead a team of warehouse associates in our Talladega facility. This role is responsible for ensuring all customer orders are picked, packed, and shipped accurately and on time, while maintaining a safe, efficient, and engaging work environment during our weekend-heavy schedule.
This role will report to the Shipping Manager at our Talladega facility, working Friday-Monday, 6:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (four days per week).
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Supervise and lead weekend shipping associates (pickers, packers, material handlers, forklift operators) on the Friday-Monday shift.
  • Plan daily labor and workflow based on order volume, priorities, and carrier cut-off times.
  • Oversee all outbound shipping activities, including picking, packing, staging, loading, and documentation.
  • Process and verify shipment documentation; inspect completed orders for accuracy, quality, and correct packaging.
  • Ensure orders ship on time and in full, with special attention to custom-sized air filters and customer-specific requirements.
  • Train and coach team members on standard operating procedures (SOPs), safety rules, quality standards, and productivity expectations.
  • Use Warehouse Management System (WMS)/ERP and carrier platforms to release, track, and close orders; print labels and shipping documents.
  • Act as a liaison between weekend operations and management, carriers, and internal departments such as Production and Customer Service.
  • Identify and address process bottlenecks; recommend improvements to increase efficiency, accuracy, and throughput.
  • Enforce all safety policies; promote a safe, clean, and inclusive workplace and support 5S/lean practices in shipping areas.
  • Monitor and report weekend performance metrics (orders shipped, error rates, productivity, attendance, overtime, etc.).
  • Ensure adequate supplies at packing/shipping stations (boxes, labels, tape, pallets, stretch wrap, etc.).

Required skills and qualifications:
  • At least 5 years of experience in shipping, logistics, or warehouse operations, including lead or supervisory experience.
  • Strong understanding of distribution/shipping processes (pick/pack/ship, small parcel, and/or LTL).
  • Experience working in a high-volume warehouse, manufacturing, or ecommerce fulfillment environment.
  • Ability to effectively lead, motivate, and hold a team accountable in a fast-paced setting.
  • Working knowledge of WMS/ERP systems, handheld scanners, and carrier/shipping software (e.g., UPS/FedEx or similar).
  • Excellent organizational, time-management, and multitasking skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to collaborate with managers, peers, and frontline employees.
  • Problem-solving mindset with the ability to make sound decisions under time pressure.
  • Willingness to work a Friday-Monday, 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. schedule, including occasional overtime or holidays based on business needs.
  • Ability to stand and walk for the majority of the shift and regularly lift and move items of 30-50 lbs.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
