They develop, maintain, and enhance secure, scalable applications that meet federal regulations and standards. This role often requires knowledge of security protocols, cloud services, and compliance with policies like FISMA or FedRAMP. Many positions also require U.S. citizenship and a security clearance due to the sensitivity of government data.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the Federal Java Developer position, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Federal Java Developer, you need expertise in Java programming, object-oriented design, and experience with federal IT standards, often supported by a relevant degree and security clearance eligibility. Familiarity with tools like Eclipse or IntelliJ IDEA, frameworks such as Spring or Hibernate, and understanding of federal systems and compliance protocols (like FISMA) are commonly required.
