Software Engineer
This position is located on-site at the FAA WJHTC, at the Atlantic City Airport in New Jersey.
ATEC is looking for a software engineer for Second Level Engineering Support of Air Traffic Systems.
Required Skills
  • Core Java Development: Java, Spring Boot, and Maven
  • Containerization & Deployment: Containerization using Docker or Podman; including but not limited to developing, deploying, packaging, port mapping, networking, etc.

Familiarity with:
  • Publish/Subscribe messaging and enterprise messaging technologies such as JMS, Solace or Apache Camel.
  • Web services
  • Version control systems (e.g., Git).

Ability to:
  • Work independently, as well as on a team, in a fast-paced environment.
  • Navigate complex workflows; research and problem solve; willingness to learn/try new things.
  • Communicate effectively through verbal and written communication.

Preferred Skills
  • Testing & Quality: Test-Driven Development (TDD), Test development using Junit and/or Mockito.
  • Ansible automation.
  • DevOps experience such as using Jenkins or Gitlab
  • Familiar with Java OOP design pattern
  • Essential Daily Job Duties
  • Edit, develop, adjust existing Java code base.
  • Manage applications in a Linux environment.
  • Develop automation code in bash, ansible, or gitlab.
  • Convert Java middleware application code in virtual machine environment to containerized application code.
  • Support software deployment and operation teams.

Education & Experience Requirement
All non-US Degrees must have a US Equivalency Certificate provided by the candidate.
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related IT fields, with a minimum of thirty (30) semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science may be substituted in lieu of the computer science degree, depending on other qualifications and experience.
  • Three (3) to six (6) years of experience is required.
  • NAS experience is desired.

Work Environment
  • Full-time position with a standard work schedule; occasional evening support.
  • Cubicle environment.

PAY RANGE:
$75,000 - $95,000
