Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Project Manager focused on leading our Federal projects to be based in one of our Southern California offices. We are open to this person being seated in our Orange, San Diego or Los Angeles office.   

Job Summary/Responsibilities:

The Project Manager our team is seeking will lead and execute interdisciplinary projects that fall within our Federal market sector. Our Federal portfolio is a broad and diverse range of clients and project types with a focus on integrated A/E solutions. This leader will be responsible for managing scope, schedule, and budget of projects across the project lifecycle - from conceptual studies to full design and construction administration.  

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Leading the delivery of projects from proposal phase through Client handover.

  • Acts as primary point of contact for Clients and manages the relationship with all stakeholders.

  • Manages all aspects of a project including project needs and requirements, schedule, fees, deliverables, contract terms and conditions, and the like.

  • Coordination of internal and external project team members.

  • Ability to clearly and effectively communicate; written, verbal, and presentations.

  • Provide senior management with project updates included status of project budget, deliverables, quality, and client relationship.

  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects

  • Will participate in project pursuits, including generation of Scope of Work, project team, fee production, and review of terms and conditions.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Engineering or a related field

  • 4+ years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

  • Architectural Licensure or Professional Engineer

  • Due to the nature of work, U.S. Citizenship is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of experience in a project leadership or management role overseeing complex architectural or engineering projects in the Federal market

  • PMP Certification is a plus

  • Comprehensive grasp of the design methodology and process

  • Proficient in conveying complex information in a clear and concise manner

  • Demonstrated ability to tailor communication style to different audiences and contexts

  • Demonstrates a keen eye for detail, exhibits thoroughness, maintains excellent organizational skills, and adeptly manages time

  • Team player with excellent listening skills and diplomacy

  • Proficiency in recognizing and comprehending various contract formats

  • Well versed in project management best practices such as earned value, proposals, contract management, change management, schedule management.

  • Exceptional organizational abilities - adept at managing concurrent tasks efficiently

  • Proactively goal-driven, capable of independent work, and skilled in navigating change with effectiveness

  • Experience participating in business development/marketing activities with existing and new clients

  • Proficient in REVIT

  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Project and Power BI

  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Office Suite; word, excel, PowerPoint
