Our school is looking to hire a teacher for social studies and general math up to algebra 1. The former teacher went on maternity leave and is not returning creating an opportunity for someone new.

Role Description subject is high school math amd social studies in an all ESE school. The Special Education Teacher is a full-time, on-site role based in Lantana, FL. This role is responsible for planning, delivering, and adapting instruction for students with a range of disabilities in accordance with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and school policies. Day-to-day responsibilities include assessing student needs, developing differentiated lesson plans, providing direct instruction in small groups and inclusive classroom settings, and monitoring progress toward academic and behavioral goals. The Special Education Teacher collaborates closely with general education teachers, related service providers, and families to implement accommodations, modifications, and behavior support plans. Additional duties include maintaining accurate documentation, participating in IEP meetings, complying with state and federal special education regulations, and contributing to school-wide initiatives and professional development.


Qualifications


  • Strong knowledge of Special Education practices and experience supporting students with diverse disabilities.
  • Demonstrated Teaching skills, including lesson planning, classroom management, and differentiated instruction.
  • Experience working with High School students or comparable age groups in an educational setting.
  • Effective Communication skills for collaborating with students, families, colleagues, and external partners.
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in education or a related field; appropriate state teaching certification or eligibility to get certification required.
  • Ability to use educational technology and data to inform instruction and support student learning.
  • Commitment to inclusive practices, cultural responsiveness, and continuous professional growth.
  • Local to the area for immediate hire by end of August/early September
