Job description

Stafford Consulting Company, Inc. is seeking 1099/part-time Federal Contracting Instructors with Veterans Affairs experience, Veterans Affairs Acquisition Academy instructional experience, and/or working knowledge of the VAAR, VAAM, and VA policy.

Job Title:
Federal Contracting Instructor (1099 / Part-time)

Job Location:
Remote, virtual and on-site within a 50-mile radius of Frederick, Maryland. *Must be willing to teach on location*

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:
Part-time, 1099 Contractor

Must have full, business hour availability for a variety of dates during the following:

October 20-December 10, 2026, and January 5-June 30, 2027.
Hours vary based on course schedule and availability

Travel Required:
Yes, travel is required to provide instruction on location.

Compensation:
Hourly Rate: $60 - $85
Stafford Consulting Company (SCC) offers competitive compensation based on experience.

Basic Minimum Requirements:

Experience:

  • 10+ years in Federal Government Contracting, with substantial experience as a Contracting Officer or Contracting Specialist.
  • At least 2 years or more of recent experience in adult education, instruction, or presentation; both virtually and in-person teaching a variety of federal contracting courses.
  • Contracting Certification: DAWIA, FAC-C Level III, DAU Contracting Certified or FAC-C Professional.
  • Recent and updated working familiarity with the Revolutionary FAR Overhaul, associated policies and procedures and recent Executive Orders affecting the Federal Acquisition Process.

Education:
Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree; Master’s degree or higher is preferred or equivalent experience level.

Professional Certifications:
DAWIA or FAC-C Level 3 or Professional FAC-C Contracting Certification is required.

Preferred Qualification:
Highly desired – in addition to the above - Government Publishing Office (GPO) Experience and/or working knowledge of the MMAR.

Desired Attributes:

Flexible, adaptable, and highly knowledgeable in federal construction contracting processes with strong instructional and associated technology skills.
