This allows users to send and receive printed documents in a digital format, often as scanned images or PDFs. Fax jobs are commonly used in industries where secure document transmission is required, such as healthcare, legal, and finance. Despite the rise of email and digital communication, faxing remains a reliable method for sending official documents securely.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Fax Operator, and why are they important?

Job description

How you will impact the organization...

We are seeking a seasoned and authoritative Senior Director of Product to take full ownership of our Fax Solutions portfolio. This critical leadership role requires a dual-focus on strategic product direction and rigorous program execution. You will lead the transition of our legacy fax products to our next-generation platform while driving growth for our enterprise and consumer brands (eFax, ECFax, SRFax, etc.). You will manage a team of Product Managers, drive the 2-year strategic roadmap, and ensure transparent, efficient delivery against organizational KPIs. You will serve as the primary operational leader for the Fax program, bridging the gap between technical engineering, product strategy, and business outcomes.

The value you will deliver...

  • Program Management: Lead monthly business reviews and collaborate deeply with GTM (Sales, eCommerce, Client Services) and Engineering leads to align product delivery with market messaging and sales strategy.
  • Strategic Roadmap & Vision: Define, refine, and execute a comprehensive 2-year product roadmap for the Fax Solutions vertical. Balance the maintenance of legacy products with the aggressive migration to the growth-oriented new platform, ensuring alignment with executive stakeholders.
  • Program Management & Delivery: Serve as the Program Lead for key fax initiatives, ensuring efficient and timely delivery of planned features. Manage dependencies, identify risks, and drive "flat expense" delivery while maintaining high velocity.
  • Team Leadership & Development: Manage, mentor, and grow a team of direct reports (Senior Product Managers and Product Managers). Conduct bi-weekly 1:1s, manage performance reviews, and foster a culture of accountability and professional growth.
  • KPI Ownership: Take full ownership of KPIs for all fax products. Establish a program that makes transparent progress against these metrics and actively address market gaps or internal concerns based on data-driven insights.
  • Operational & Financial Governance: Manage the "Capitalized Labor" policy for the fax  team, overseeing monthly timekeeping, resource allocation, and reporting to ensure strict adherence to financial policies and budget neutrality.
  • Legacy & Migration Strategy: Develop and execute a detailed migration plan for legacy fax brands (e.g., MetroFax, Fax.com) onto modern platforms, ensuring customer retention and technical stability during the transition.
  • Product Lifecycle Management: Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of the portfolio, from "Product Podium" wins and PLG (Product-Led Growth) expansion in new platforms  to the eventual sunsetting of redundant systems.
  • Market Intelligence: Work with Marketing to refine messaging and ensure the organization maintains a sharp edge on competitive intelligence and market positioning for fax products.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Keep  leadership updated on emerging concerns, personnel changes, and major wins.
  • Internal Evangelism: Celebrate fax wins and educate the broader organization on the value propositions and key characteristics of the portfolio.
  • Process Optimization: Promote our ways of working within the fax team.  Champion the adoption and efficient use of internal tools (Jira, Figma, Fellow, Slack) to streamline team operations.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as required, assigned, or requested. Consensus reserves the right to add or change duties at any time.

What you will bring to the table...

  • 7+ years of product manager experience in software development. Experience in fax, telecom or fax adjacent.
  • 2+  years as a senior or lead product manager.
  • Associate Degree Required.
  • Deep Domain Expert: Is the acknowledged subject matter expert in clinical or healthcare domains, translating complex regulatory and workflow requirements into product features.
  • Exceptional Communication: Possesses exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Maintains a transparent communication style and promotes trust and empowerment through open access of information.
  • Ownership and Initiative: Demonstrates strong initiative and sense of ownership over assigned responsibilities.
  • Strategic Planning: Proactively identifies and champions new strategic initiatives. Defines and tracks KPIs for a product line, shaping the strategy and creating a compelling product future.
  • Evidence-Based Approach: Maintains an evidence-based mentality, prioritizing data and science over seniority or dogma in decision-making.
  • Tool Proficiency: Knowledge and experience using project management and design collaboration tools, including JIRA, SLACK, FIGMA, and other relevant AI/ML or documentation platforms.
  • Prioritization & Time Management: Possesses strong time management skills and the ability to prioritize positive impact items over busy work.
  • Ambiguity & Conflict Resolution: Thrives in ambiguous situations, brings clarity to complex, multi-stakeholder problems, and defines a clear path forward. Manages competing priorities to keep the product on track.
  • Strategic Delivery: Manages the development lifecycle for multiple products. Proactively resolves cross-functional blockers. Champions a "no scope creep" culture and manages dependencies impacting delivery timelines.
  • Strong time management skills
  • Good communication skills along with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross functional teams
  • Proficiency with key workflow and communication platforms essential for agile delivery, such as Jira for backlog management, Slack for real-time team coordination, and tools like Miro or Figma for collaborative solution design.
  • Gemini or ChatGPT, effective prompt creation.

You will stand out if you also have...

  • Bachelor's Degree in Health Sciences, Computer Science, or a related technical field is a bonus.
  • Pragmatic Product Development Certification or similar accredited Product Management certification.
  • Preference to AI software development for healthcare experience.
  • Active, transferable U.S. Security clearance at the Public Trust level or higher preferred.
